 AMIDEAST has a vacancy for an Editor/Proofreader consultancy position. Project Description: Developing Assistance to Schools and Teacher Improvement II (D-RASATI II) is a project that aims at enhancing student achievement in Lebanese public schools by training English teachers, developing extra-curricular activities, providing schools with ICT equipment and training, developing school leadership and building the capacity and tools necessary to support school improvement planning. D-RASATI II is a project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).  Consultancy Description: The Editor/Proofreader will work closely with the Extracurricular Activities component manager to review and edit extracurricular activity guides that will be distributed to public schools in Lebanon. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Reviewing all modules developed Checking for and correcting language errors Re-writing texts when necessary and ensuring consistent writing style Liaising with graphic designer to ensure that design is consistent with the material Qualifications: PhD in Arabic, Arabic Literature, or other relevant field required Extensive writing and editing experience Excellent knowledge in the Arabic Language Extensive writing experience Ability to work within tight deadlines Knowledge of public schools and the public educational system in Lebanon is preferred Lebanese citizen Available to start the consultancy immediately Resumes and cover letters should be sent to: lebanon@amideast.org with “D-RASATI II Editor/Proofreader” in the subject line.
