Database Coordinator (Lebanese Nationals Only)

Background ACTED is an INGO registered in France with global operations in Central and South Asia, Europe, Middle-East and Africa. ACTED has been active in Lebanon since 2006 operating mainly in the North and Beirut and Mount Lebanon governorates of Lebanon. Since 2013, ACTED has been implementing household and community-level programming in Beirut and Mount Lebanon supporting public service delivery and social cohesion.   **Please note: This is a local position. Only Lebanese citizens are eligible to apply.** Assignment The Database Coordinator bears full responsibility for maintaining accurate and complete internal and external databases of all ACTED’s programme and AME data. He/she will develop and promote new database systems and practices, perform data entry, data cleansing, accurate filing of all processed documents, as well as support in data analysis and donor reporting requirements. He/She will also supervise ACTED’s database department, currently consisting of 2 database assistants.    The Database Coordinator bears full responsibility of the Database Department. Specifically he/she will be responsible for development, management and coordination of new internal systems and existing databases, in addition to the management and regular updates of external databases, depending on donor requirements. Moreover, the Database Coordinator is responsible for the good organization and filing of program archives, as well as for producing accurate and timely reports on all program activities  Detailed responsibilities include:  Data processing and management: To enter all data and figures as requested accurately and rapidly. To provide AMEU, program, reporting and GIS units with data outputs upon request; To maintain up-to-date databases as required, including across all relevant programs and supporting all relevant departments / units To collect all documents needed for the database and enter each beneficiary into the project database for projects.  AMEU / Program Support To support Programme/AMEU with data collection and/or entry as required To support AMEU with data analysis and reporting when called upon To support in GIS tasks as requested To process data and information from field – in particular ensure quality, consistency, accuracy, truthfulness, comprehensiveness of all distribution data; To support in the preparation of all reports(through data processing or data analysis) upon request by Program Manager, AMEU Officer or the Program Development Officer. Processing documents for activities (list of participants, etc) and contribute to preparations and organisation of activities; Supporting ACTED staff in the execution of all necessary project activities, including administrative and logistical support;  Filing To ensure that up-to-date files are maintained, both electronically and in paper form; To perform accurate filing of all processed documents, monthly consolidated filing of key project documents in his/her area offices.  Required Qualifications and experience BA, BSc on Computer Science, Information Management Systems (IMS) or relevant, MA, MSc preferred Proficient knowledge of Access, Excell, MS SQL Experience working in International NGOs and/or UN in similar position Experience supervising small teams Very good understanding of data related to multi-sector Programme activities Ability to design and develop databases Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and English and Arabic  Required personal qualities Understanding the nature of work carried      out by programs is necessary for ensuring the relevance and usability of the      data management. Therefore a proactive and self-motivated attitude towards      gaining a good understanding of ACTED programs is essential. Willingness to learn and capacity to innovate; Database Coordinator must be inventive and eager to improve his/her own skills, and be capable to adapt, shape and develop data      processing tools best suited for ACTED’s activities; Cultural awareness and experience of delivering solutions; string problem solving skills Good organizational skills and ability to perform data processing tasks rigorously required. Ability to work well under pressure
