Environmental Engineer

The American University of Beirut (AUB) - Nature Conservation Center (AUB-NCC) is urgently seeking an Environmental Engineer for our Citizen Science for Improved Integrated Solid Waste Management program. The program works to characterize, optimize, assess, and implement scalable solutions in Bar Elias, Kab Elias and Marj municipalities for developing an integrated Solid Waste Management plan (ISWM). The objective is to provide economically sustainable models where revenues (or savings) can sustain the operational costs which include job creation for some of the village residents. Ideally the environmental Engineer would have a solid waste management background or systems engineering background. Project will mobilize within 1 month   General Skills Ability to work independently and under pressure, while meeting deadlines, is a must Team oriented Good interpersonal skills Fluent in Arabic and English Tasks: Estimate the human resources and equipment needed to operate a proposed waste sorting facility Review the design drawings of the facility Assist in all technical aspects of the project Propose a training plan for local personnel
