The Caseworker will be responsible for implementing activities related to case management targeting vulnerable children and families including refugees, returnees and children in host communities.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
The key roles and responsibilities for the Case Worker are:
- Identification, assessment, referral (to relevant services) and follow-up of at-risk children and families (Case Management) including confidential documentation.
- Participate in weekly case management and coordination meetings internally as well as with partner organizations.
- Conducting regular assessment visits to households, working closely with facilitators and animators on the identification and referral of at risk-children and families.
- Provide information on existing social services and how to access them.
- Submit reports weekly reports concerning implemented outreach activities, case load and related challenges.
- Maintain files, registers, computer databases and records in paper or electronic format.
- Work as a member of a team ensuring fluid communication of relevant information in order to make sure that the work with individual cases is of quality.
- Ensure a strict adherence to the principles of child protection and child safeguarding at all times, including respect for confidentiality and always acting in the best interests of the child.
- In agreement with the Program Manager, perform other required duties within reason (in line with skills and experience).
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Social Work (desirable), or degree social sciences or development
- Experience in working with at-risk children and families, experience in case management in the emergency response.
- Experience in community mobilization and conducting outreach activities
- Understanding of existing services and referral systems and child protection mechanisms
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic
