  TERMS OF REFERENCE (TOR) Graphic Designer/Consultancy Lebanon Reforestation Initiative 2016   Background The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the United States Forest Service (USFS).  LRI intends to build a strong partnership for reforestation with mass media, national and local government, Lebanese civil society organizations, as well as the private sector. To pursue this intention, LRI plans to contract a graphic designer, to help the office meet its need for quality design services. The successful candidate will provide technical support to LRI’s communications component in designing various publications and contribute to the development and improvement of the design, branding and layout materials produced by LRI. The candidate should ensure that the products and reports are following USAID and USFS graphic guidelines, provide the best possible functionally and usability to LRI’s partners and contribute to the overall branding process. Tasks and Responsibilities Implement USAID and USFS branding policy Ensure that all reports, publication and products are produced in line with USAID and USFS’s graphic guidelines; Implement the guidelines in all LRI’s communication products; Deliver creative and innovative ideas for print and electronic presentations Design and layout for outreach materials Design of reports and other communication materials for printing and electronic distribution; Layout and design information for communication materials (banners, posters, leaflets, backdrops, planners, flyers, invitation cards, etc…) The specifications of each assignment will be given when requested Qualifications and Expertise Strong theoretical and practical background in graphic design, including the use of design software such as Adobe design premium, In-Design, etc… Show a clear and mature style of design, understanding USAID and USFS’s branding guidelines Proven experience of graphic production from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes and color management Individuals should provide the following: CV; Cover letter; Reference list; Copy of previous work portfolio; and Proposal/quotation for working approximately 12 days per month (3 days/week) in LRI’s offices taking into consideration the above mentioned communication materials to be produced Deliverables Quality design for various LRI’s assignments completed in line with USAID and USFS’s branding guidelines and meeting specified deadlines. Contract Duration The contract will be effective from date of signing until June 30th, 2017. Terms and conditions of payment Upon completion of each month and upon delivery of the designs requested.
