DIMENSIONS:
Communication largely with internal staff, also with some external contacts / target audiences to support operational work.

Providing information on services and facilitating referrals
Liaising with field offices of humanitarian agencies for our information dissemination activities and for referral of cases
Preparation of written protection updates following the Oxfam formats and monthly reports according to the indicators to achieve
Preparing weekly and monthly plans and facilitation of community awareness sessions on basic and specialist protection services using approaches that promote gender equality
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct focus group discussions, interviews and observations to obtain information about protection issues faced by refugees from Syria and Lebanese host populations
Prepare and facilitate community consultations and orientation sessions about refugee rights, entitlements, registration, basic and specialist services in the districts
Support the programme officer and work with local NGO partners and community groups to coordinate community based orientation sessions – working with counterpart in partner organisation where possible
Follow-up with INGOs and UN about requests and invitations for the community sessions
Maintain the list of referrals pathways, mapping of service providers and referral focal points and criteria for referral regularly updated.
Follow-up INGOs and UNHCR about brochures and other information materials for distribution to refugees, and prepare hand outs with basic information
In collaboration with the MEAL team, submit monthly MEAL reports to track the beneficiary numbers of the information dissemination and referral activities and ensure regular update of protection and complaint database
Support possible protection advocacy research
Provide written feedback about protection incidents, issues and aid-related community-conflicts and refer it to service providers
Maintain the list of focal points updated, and have regular contact with protection focal points in the communities, and issue initial reports on protection issues
SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:
Demonstrable experience in working with communities in humanitarian or development contexts
Demonstrable experience in using participatory research and assessment methodologies
Good understanding of protection and refugee issues related to conflict including some basic human rights and refugee
Good levels of spoken and written English and Arabic
Commitment to a rights-based approach, gender equality and protection
Proven analytical skills
Understanding of monitoring processes, learning, adaptation and evaluation
Ability to work in multi-cultural team
Willingness to work in insecure environments and a high level of adaptability and initiative
