The Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections (LADE) was founded in Lebanon by a number of activists in the public sector on March 13, 1996. LADE is a civil, independent and nonprofit organization specialized in elections and how closely they are linked to democracy.
LADE is concerned with monitoring the elections in their different forms as well as studying the electoral systems and laws according to the international democratic electoral standards, especially standards that guarantee free, fair and transparent elections.
LADE seeks a dynamic, motivated and committed person looking for an internship opportunity in the field of media and communications with a well-known community based nonprofit organization. This internship is an excellent opportunity to provide on hand experience and knowledge in various aspects of work related to the fields listed above.
Responsibilities and overall tasks:
Produce daily press reviews (production, circulation and archiving)
Update social media tools (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, etc.)
Assist with the implementation of the strategic development plan for the department
Help creating the weekly and monthly newsletters (internal, external).
Report and provide input from the social media POV for overall marketing efforts of the campaigns and projects.
Take part in the brainstorming, launching and implementation of the upcoming campaigns and events.
Archive media coverage of all the initiatives and events organized by LADE and CCER
Archive LADE’s media appearances
Help drafting the materials to be issued for the media (press releases, invitations, etc...)
Edit and post materials (texts and images) on the website.
Help on the restructuring LADE’s website
Update the mailing list (including mailing information on NGO networks, partners, donors, volunteers, and members).
Assist in creating videos for audience development purposes to bridge the key messages of the audience and outreach projects.
Assist with certain press opportunities – press releases, sponsorship opportunities, etc.
Assist with designs and visuals within LADE’s identity
Assist in the production of advertisements, press releases, and promotional materials.
Assisti with mailings and sending faxes to media, consumers, and other contacts.
Initiate new fundraising, marketing and communication ideas
Undertake specific research (when needed) to help bring new supporters on board e.g. celebrities, corporate, new events
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
A. Academic & Technical:
Excellent communication skills
Good Knowledge of languages (Arabic, English, and French is a plus).
Completed or working towards a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., Journalism, Radio, TV and Film, Marketing/Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or other relevant major)
IT literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Familiarity with design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator) and editing programs (Premiere, Avid)
B. Personal skills:
A fair understanding of the Lebanese political context and electoral systems.
A basic Knowledge of the NGO sector
Good presentation skills.
Innovative approach to the development of communications tools.
