Music Educator For Elementary Levels

The Tahaddi Education Center (TEC) provides educational opportunities for at-risk, out of school children in Beirut (behind the Sport City). We are currently seeking a Music Educator for the preschool and elementary school levels (KG 2 to grade 5), children aged 4 to 14. This is a part time position: 3 days a week from 8.00 to 1.30., 1 day from 8.00 to 3.30 Primary Responsibilities: Sing with children, teach Music, use instruments, lead a choir and/or, if possible, teach the recorder or xylophones, etc.  Use exciting methods and instructional up –to- date material and musical instruments to meet children’s varying needs   and interests. Display appropriate class management Plan, prepare, animate, lead and mediate in a creative way. Show self-motivation, enthusiasm and creativity. Work effectively with team members.   Reporting: The Educator reports to the Coordinator and/or the Director of the TEC   Skill Requirements:   A full commitment to Tahaddi core values and humanitarian mandate Full adherence to Tahaddi policies Strong Arabic language skills. French and English are desirable with at least one with fluency Good relational skills with a positive and encouraging spirit Nonjudgmental attitude, maturity and patience in dealing with children and community members of different backgrounds Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context Computer literate, be at least familiar with MS Office software package and Music software.
