Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer

Background and Vision: MOSAIC is a non-profit, apolitical, and non-confessional Lebanese civil society organization, established in 2014. Founded by a collective of activists, legal, and health experts, MOSAIC is dedicated to serving marginalized groups. Our core focus is to provide comprehensive services, conduct pertinent research, advocate for policy reform, and build expertise on SOGI issues. We aim for a world where diverse sexual orientations and gender identities are respected and protected, eradicating any forms of discrimination, intimidation, and persecution. Our strategy, backed by our strong presence in Lebanon and extensive networks in the MENA region, is to foster coexistence in inclusive communities and national systems.

Project Overview: "Breaking Barriers"

Objective: This initiative aims to diminish discrimination, marginalization, and gender-based violence faced by LBTQ individuals in Lebanon.

Key Features:

Direct provision of case management, psychological support, legal aid, and counseling for beneficiaries.

Enhancement of the capacity of various stakeholders, including case managers, social workers, and program managers through specialized training, ensuring a widespread inclusive humanitarian response.

Emphasis on reducing stigma through enhanced service accessibility, especially in areas beyond Beirut.

Introducing the LGBTIQ narrative to local and international NGOs, rectifying misconceptions, and equipping stakeholders with skills for providing dignified services to marginalized communities.

Offering life skills lessons to both refugees and local LGBTIQ community members to foster better integration both locally and internationally, especially for asylum-seekers.

Position: Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer

Scope of Work: The M&E Officer will collaborate with Program teams to evaluate field conditions, support capacity initiatives, monitor activity progress, and engage in staff capacity-building when needed.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Track and report training achievements in the selected areas to the project coordinator.

Support the Project Coordinator in potential alterations to the project monitoring plan, indicators, and periodic reporting.

Monitor and track progress of various project-related activities and documents.

Build capacity among trainers and local facilitators, enabling them to derive measurable results from their Action Plans.

Assist participants in developing strong indicators in workshops and collect data from these trainings for quarterly and annual reports.

Support documentation and organization of program progress.

Design data collection tools and procedures under the supervision of the project manager.

Recommend improvements in data collection and flow within Program field teams.

Regularly visit field sites to ensure quality and accuracy of collected data.

Participate in and support program and project evaluations, including mid-term and post-project evaluations.

Skills & Qualifications:

Ability to train and build capacity.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Experience in an NGO and familiarity with the local Lebanese context.

Proficiency in Windows Excel and quantitative analysis.

Team spirit and ability to collaborate effectively.

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the LGBTIQ or human rights sector.

Understanding of challenges faced by LBTQ individuals in Lebanon.

Empathetic, non-judgmental attitude towards diverse populations.

Fluency in English and Arabic. French is a plus.
