Psychosocial Coordinator (Pssc)

The job description is mandatory for all position within INTERSOS and shall be signed by employee within the first week of employment.     Job Title        : Psychosocial Coordinator (PSSC) Reports to       : Project Manager Duty Station    : Sour, roving between South (Sour and Nabatieh), Mount Lebanon (Anout and Baakleen) and Bekaa regions (Rachaya, Central and West Bekaa) Position Type  : Full Time Salary:             : 1,850 USD (net salary)[1]   Job Purpose: With the support and supervision of the Project Manager, the Psychological Coordinator (PSSC) is responsible for the correct and efficient implementation of the PSS activities in the assigned areas.   Generic Duties: 1-    Provide technical guidance to the development of the project’s PSS component ensuring timely and quality implementation of the PSS activities. 2-    Develop and further strengthen the implementation of PSS toolkits and monitor and evaluate the impact of PSS activities/toolkits on beneficiaries 3-    Standardize PSS toolkits on a national level and ensure a proper implementation in all INTERSOS mission 4-     Provide coaching, support and supervision to the field staff in the implementation and the development of ad hoc PSS curricula / activities. 5-    Provide trainings on PSS related issues for internal staff and external stakeholders 6-    Guarantee the respect and adoption of donor’s guidelines on the implementation of the PSS activities. 7-    Contribute to the analysis of internal and external M & E tools adopted 8-     Work in collaboration with technical staff (ex. Protection Coordinator, Protection Officer, Psychologist and Gender Based Violence Coordinator)  for the development of PSS tools 9-    Contribute to the development of new project proposals and initiatives in order to further integrate the PSS component into broader protection initiative. 10-  Participate to sectorial meetings organized by INTERSOS or other stakeholders 11-  Coordinate and collaborate with all staff and seniors to guarantee an efficient and quality implementation of the project’s activities 12-  Accomplish any other task requested by PMs, PROM and any for other business requested by the mission.    Specific Duties: Work on an holistic PSS programme to be implemented in the above mentioned regions targeting children adolescent and parents/caregivers; Establish ad hoc programmes of implementation of activities for every regions in order to reach qualitative and quantitative targets in due time; Ensure the adoption of minimum standard required (ex. Child Friendly Space Checklist) in centers were the activities are implemented; Organize and/or conduct trainings on PSS activities for children, adolescent, parents and caregivers to INTERSOS, CBOs and SDCs staff Supervise and monitor INTERSOS, CBOs and SDCs staff during the implementation of activities; Conduct frequent field visits to monitor and evaluate activities implementation; Plan, organize and supervise the implementation, by INTERSOS staff and CBOs and SDCs staff, of: i) outreach activities run by animators, trainer animators and other staff members in order to identify children, adolescent and caregivers in need to PSS activities; ii) PSS activities for children on the base of ad hoc PSS curriculum; iii) PSS activities for adolescent on the base of ad hoc PSS curriculum; iv) PSS activities for parents / caregivers on the base of ad hoc curriculum (ex. Good parenting); v) focus PSS activities with children and adolescent; vi) emotional support groups and focus group discussion. Take part in PSS activities, focus PSS activities, emotional support groups and focus group discussion in support of field staff; e the final responsible on the sustainability of the budget allocated to the CBOs and SDCs for the conduct of the acitivites; Collaborate with other staff members in order to insure that PSS dimension is integrated in all interventions; Provide inputs for the realization of community brochures and Early Childhood Development material in consultation with children, adolescent and caregivers; Informs the Project  Manager about any difficulty met in INTERSOS activities implementation; Accomplish any other assignments given by supervisors or the Project Manager;   Reporting:   Check and provide final versions of qualitative monitoring tools on the base of the data provided by Animator, trainer animators and social workers; Provide monthly reports to be validated by the Project Manager and other internal reporting; Provide quarterly reports to be validated by the Project Manager to be presented to UNICEF; Provide input and reports for particular PSS related issues and sections of project proposal.   Administration: Provide input to Field Activities Officers (FAOs) for materials needed to implement activities in the field.     Logistic:  Coordinate with Field Activities Officers (FAOs) and with the INTERSOS Logistic Department for materials and services needed to implement activities in the field.   Meeting: Be available to take part in meetings in the centres, in Tyre INTERSOS Office or in any other location required by the  FAO and the general management Be available to take part in sectorial meetings   Education: University Degree in Social Work, Psychologist or psychosocial related fields   Competencies:  (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)   Professional Competencies:   -       3 years of extensive psychosocial programming and implementation experience – at least 1 year in NGO/INGO; -       in depth knowledge of Psychosocial programming in the humanitarian context; -       Knowledge of main PSS tools adopted by NGOs/INGOs in the country (Ex. My Safety My Well Being and Citadel of Protection) -       Understanding and commitment to Child Protection and Protection principles -       Training experience required; -       Experience in managing teams up to 15 persons -       Strong organizational and supervisory skills with excellent reporting & writing skills; -       Good knowledge word and excel -       Strong interpersonal skill and communication skills; -       Strong observation, analytical and listening skills -       Computer literacy (Word, Excel, outlook) -       Driving License   Behavioural competencies: -                      High confidentiality and respect. -                      Ability to work under pressure -                      High degree of flexibility in terms of extra time and movements -                      Excellent interpersonal and  communication skills   Languages: -                      Excellent command of verbal and written English -                      Excellent command of verbal and written Arabic  [1] Salary subject to variation due to the seniority in the organization and the acceptance of the salary grid by donors, net salary does not include transportation allowance.
