Program Coordinator

The Nawaya Network is an NGO based in Beirut that develops the talents and skills of youth from low-income backgrounds to improve their employment and income-generating opportunities. Nawaya, in partnership with Bader Young Entrepreneurs Program, has launched a coding bootcamp called SE Factory (SEF). SEF is a cutting-edge coding bootcamp in Beirut on a mission to select high-potential computer science graduates from low income backgrounds and help them develop the necessary skills to become job-ready software engineers. SEF runs in 3-month cycles (photos), taking a batch of up to 20 students each time, for a total of 3 cycles per year. Students go through intensive training on the full stack of web development technologies. In addition, students go through a wide range of soft skills workshops such as CV writing, job interviewing, self-awareness, teamwork, project management, among others. At the end of the 3-month bootcamp, SEF will facilitate interviews with top software companies and agencies looking to hire, thereby bridging the gap in Lebanon between university graduates and the demands of the job market.   The Program Coordinator Position SEF is looking to hire a full-time Program Coordinator (PC) to do the following tasks: - Assist the founders with fundraising and sponsorship (prepare docs, outreach and follow-up) - Manage the student outreach and selection processes before any cycle (prepare docs, social media/email/etc, process applications, interviews and final selection) - Manage all logistical and booking matters related to speakers and workshop facilitators during cycles - Manage SEF’s social media accounts and help market the program - Promote SEF activities during cycles - Manage the growing community of SEF alumni, engaging them into continuing interaction and support to SEF and its students - Manage all logistics/admin of the SEF spaces Skills Required - First and foremost, a burning belief and passion in the cause of SEF and a desire to take it to the next level - University graduate and relevant extra-curricular activities - Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate among many parties - Experience in events planning, logistics, community and project management - Excellent written and spoken English - Some experience in social media marketing The position is flexible in that the chosen PC will have both busy times (pre-cycle selection phase, job interview phase and evening workshop coordination for example) as well as quieter times (students coding during the day). We are therefore open to having exceptional candidates conduct other freelance work while being present at the SEF space, such as social media management or other freelance digital work.
