Community Mobilizer For Women And Girls Safe - Chouf

The job description is mandatory for all position within INTERSOS and shall be signed by employee within the first week of employment.   Job title           : Community Mobilizer for Women and Girls Safe Space Reports to        : Gender Based Violence Coordinator and Field Activities Officer Duty station     : Anout and Baqleen areas, Upper Chouf, Mount Lebanon region Position type    : Full-time Salary               : 1.200 USD (NET salary)[1]     Job purpose   The Community Mobilizer (CM) is responsible for implementing the Gender Based Violence (GBV) component of a UNICEF funded project in collaboration with Senior Social Worker and under the technical supervision of a GBV Coordinator. In particular is responsible to i) deliver awareness sessions on particular GBV topics and ii) mobilize women and girls survivors or at risk of violence in the activities conducted in and around the Women and Girls Safe Space (WGSS) of Anout and Baqleen Social Development Centers (SDCs).     General Duties and responsibilities:   -       Plan and organise awareness sessions in the villages of intervention in collaboration with municipalities, Social Development Centers (SDCs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs), community members, community groups and any other stakeholder presents in the field; -       depending on the topic, involve protection monitors, case workers and social workers, or external specialised actors, in facilitating the sessions; -       prepare and organise all logistic aspects for the conduct of the awareness sessions; -       identify and facilitate the participation of women and girls survivors or at risk of violence in the activities conducted in and around the Women and Girls Safe Space (WGSS)s Anout and Baqleen SDCs; -       prepare a weekly and monthly work plan for awareness session, including target groups and topics; -       ensure weekly and monthly reports on the conducted awareness sessions.   Specific Duties and responsibilities:   -       Deliver daily awareness sessions on GBV issues such as (sexual and reproductive health, early marriage,  early pregnancy and marriage registration) and protection related issues to women and girls in and around the WGSS of Anout and Baqleen SDCs collaborating with municipalities, Social Development Centers (SDCs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs), community members, community groups and any other stakeholder presents in the field; -    provide information to women and girls and parents/caregivers on services available in the field and create the link between them and International Non-Governmental Organization (INGOs), NGOs, Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Social Development Centers (SDCs) and any other stakeholders present in the area and ensure that the provided supporting material is update with correct information; -     involve and follow-up CBOs staff, SDCs staff, community members and community groups in organizing and conducting cascade awareness sessions on GBV and protection related issues in collaboration and under the supervion of the GBV Coordinator; -    support the social worker in: Facilitating and encouraging the participation of women and girls, notably the most vulnerable ones in the WGSS activities, ensuring proper attention to their specific emotional and physical needs / difficulties; ensuring women and girls under her/his responsibility are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the activities; ensuring the adoption of minimum standard required (ex. Women and Girls Safe Space checklist) in the centers were the activities are implemented; planning, organizing and conducting: i) emotional support groups and Focus Group Discussion (FGD); ii) recreational and de-stressing activities; iii) life skills development activities such as socio-economic / empowerment opportunities and life plans; iv) ad hoc curriculum for women, such as Arab Women Speak Out (AWSO) and Good parenting; v) ad hoc curriculum for adolescent girls, such as My Safety My Wellbeing (MSMW) and Citadel of Protection, focusing specifically on married girls, adopting also structured Psychosocial curriculum; strengthening linkages between the different components of INTERSOS GBV interventions and community groups made up of women and girls; -         collaborate with other staff members in order to insure that community groups and community members  take part in trainings on i) GBV risk identification and referral; ii) advocacy and iii) communication skills, enabling them to jointly assess safety and security concerns affecting women and girls, and devising community-led advocacy campaigns or other strategies to mitigate such risks; -         collaborate with other staff members to investigate on how additional services already provided by the Social Development Centers (SDCs) can guarantee a comprehensive GBV package; -         contribute to the development of community brochures in consultation with women and girls in the communities to orient them on the services available; -         ensure that the provided material is properly used, kept and cleaned; -         ensure the storage and distribution of healthy refreshment.   Case Management: -       identify and refer vulnerable cases on the base of the referral pathways adopted by INTERSOS; -       follow-up CBOs staff, SDCs staff, community members and community groups in the identification and referral of vulnerable cases.   Reporting: -       collect information on number of women and girls participating in the activities and  internally and externally referred; -       prepare weekly and monthly plan of the activities to be validated by the GBV Coordinator and the FAO; -       fill in daily, weekly and monthly monitoring tools to be validated by the GBV Coordinator and the FAO.     Administration: -  Contribute to the preparation of liquidity plans in collaboration with the social worker, to be validated by the GBV coordinator and be responsible of it.     Logistic: - coordinate, through the FAO, with the INTERSOS Logistic Department for refreshment and material delivery.     Meeting: -   be available to take part in meetings in Anout and Baqleen WGSS or in any other location required by the general management.   Education: -       BA in social sciences/ social work or equivalent relevant working experience; -       BA in Gender Studies Qualifications: -       1 to 2 years work experience in implementing mobilization activities; -       knowledge of GBV and protection related issues; -       minimum of one year of relevant NGO/INGO experience; -       experience in dealing with volunteers and local authorities; -       ability to work independently while being member of a team and working under pressure; -       ability and willingness to travel to project areas and spend extended periods with communities and volunteers; -       experience in conducting basic administrative tasks; -       good Knowledge of English and experience in reporting;  -       strong organizational skills; -       strong interpersonal skill and communication skills; -       Good knowledge word and excel; -    Driving license holder.   Behavioural competencies: -       Excellent Communication skills -       Client Orientation approach -       The social worker should have a compassionate, caring, and non-judgmental personality. -       Punctuality and respect for applicable rules and procedures; -       Ethical and transparent decision-making; -       Respect of confidentiality and data protection protocols; -       Self-motivation, goal/result-orientation and team work; -       Flexibility, tolerance and maturity. -       Patience and the ability to remain calm in a crisis -       Flexibility to adapt to new roles, tasks and situations   Any change to the proposed activities should be discussed with the INTERSOS officers in Tyre.   A high degree of flexibility on the part of all staff is expected in order to respond to the ever-evolving situation. This job description may change based on the situation in the field.
