Social Worker For Women And Girls Safe Spaces

Generic Duties: Conduct a daily variety of structured activities (recreational, psychosocial and life skill) within the centers or outside, catering to the needs of women and girls of different ages accordingly to the center activities weekly schedule; Conduct peer-led focus groups discussions, life skill training and awareness sessions with women and girls accordingly to the center activities weekly schedule; Facilitate the participation of all the segments of the target population to the planned activities held at the assigned center, notably the most vulnerable ones (refugees, local community, adolescent, women, elderly, minority members, people with disabilities etc.), ensuring that proper attention is paid to specific emotional and physical needs; Plan and design the PSS activities in collaboration with the FAO, the Gender Based Violence (GBV)  Coordinator, the Psychosocial (PSS) coordinator and all the team members, accordingly to INTERSOS guidelines on PSS activities; Where possible and in line with the confidentiality principles, engage volunteers from (Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and Social Development Centers (SDCs) staff in the planned activities held at the assigned centers; Maintain daily attendance registers and a weekly and monthly inventory sheets for each activity conducted in collaboration with the FAO and the other staff members; Maintain and fill properly any distribution list or attendance lists for the activities conducted or the distribution done, under the supervision of the FAO; Informs the supervisors about any difficulty met in INTERSOS activities implementation; Be update about all new information send by the FAO, the GBV coordinator, the PSS coordinators and the Project Manager (PM) concerning the project, the context and the beneficiaries; Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the centers and/or in INTERSOS offices when requested; Accomplish any other assignments given by supervisors or the PM.                                              Specific Duties: Facilitate and encourage the participation of women and girls, notably the most vulnerable ones, ensuring proper attention to their specific emotional and physical needs / difficulties; ensure women and girls under her/his responsibility are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the activities; ensure the adoption of minimum standard required (ex. Women and Girls Safe Space checklist) in the centers were the activities are implemented; plan, organize and run / lead / implement: i) outreach activities in collaboration with the Community Mobilizers (CM) and other staff members in order to identify women and girls victims or at risk of violence and to provide information on services available; ii) awareness sessions on specific topics such as sexual and reproductive health, early marriage,  early pregnancy and marriage registration; iii) emotional support groups and Focus Group Discussion (FGD); iv) recreational and de-stressing activities; v) life skills development activities such as socio-economic / empowerment opportunities and life plans; vi) ad hoc curriculum for women, such as Arab Women Speak Out (AWSO) and Good parenting; vii) ad hoc curriculum for adolescent girls, such as My Safety My Wellbeing (MSMW) and Citadel of Protection, focusing specifically on married girls, adopting also structured Psychosocial curriculum; strengthen linkages between the different components of INTERSOS GBV interventions and community groups made up of women and girls; collaborate with other staff members in order to insure that community groups and community members  take part in trainings on i) GBV risk identification and referral; ii) advocacy and iii) communication skills, enabling them to jointly assess safety and security concerns affecting women and girls, and devising community-led advocacy campaigns or other strategies to mitigate such risks; collaborate with the Social Development Coordinator (SDC) to investigate on how additional services already provided by the Social Development Centers (SDCs) can guarantee a comprehensive GBV package; contribute to the development of community brochures in consultation with women and girls in the communities to orient them on the services available identify and refer vulnerable cases on the base of the referral pathways adopted by INTERSOS; ensure that the provided material is properly used, kept and cleaned; ensure the storage and distribution of healthy refreshment.   Reporting: collect information on number of women and girls i) participating in the activities and ii) internally and externally referred; collect information on number of women and girls i) participating in the activities conducted by CBOs and SDCs and ii) internally and externally referred; prepare weekly and monthly plans of the activities to be validated by the FAO, the GBV and the PSS coordinators; fill in daily, weekly and monthly monitoring tools to be validated by the FAO; support CBOs and SDCs staff in the fill in of weekly and monthly monitoring tools to be validated by the FAO; prepare weekly and monthly reports on the base of ad hoc models providing qualitative and quantitative information.
