Branch Development Officer

Role purpose The Branch Development Coordinator is in charge of coordinating the branch development project between the Lebanese Red Cross Headquarters and its 32 Local Branches. The BDO is a new position in the LRC that is established to introduce the changes and reforms being undertaken at the national level to the local level and to improve dialogue between the central and local levels of the LRC. The BDO’s main responsibility during the first phase of the branch development initiative will be to map and assess the branches then implement capacity building activities on priority areas such as Fundraising, Volunteering and PMER (planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting).   Key responsibilities Keep informed of all developments at the national level affecting the branches directly or indirectly Perform and update a detailed mapping of the LRC branches including their capacities, challenges and needs Facilitate branch organizational development capacity assessments and assist the branches in developing plans to address the identified gaps Communicate regularly with heads of branches and other stakeholders and be available to answer their questions, queries and concerns Coordinate, support, guide and supervise the team of local fundraisers and local fundraising volunteers Work when necessary with the national fundraising unit and participate in its meetings and planning sessions Participate in volunteer management training and planning activities and support the volunteering reference persons Coordinate with the local volunteer managers supporting local branches and centers to promote a cross-cutting volunteering base in branches Facilitate the local branch planning workshops Assist in providing organizational development, stakeholder coordination, outreach and capacity building training and coaching to local branches Participate in and report on relevant local and international workshops linked to branch development Coordinate with Movement and Non-Movement partners who are providing financial support and/or expertise for branch development Organize regular workshops and meetings with the branches to explain and gather feedback on relevant national initiatives such as Human Resource Management, Financial Management and Logistics. Oversee and coach the branch development team Prepare quarterly and annual reports on the capacities and activities of branches and present them to the Secretary General
