1. Summary of the post
Perform daily OPD consultations and medical follow up for patients under 15 and those enrolled in the Chronic Disease program, and provide treatment according to MSF treatment protocols. Ensure the strict adherence to the lab investigation according to the MSF calendar.
Identify severe morbidities and ensure proper referral to other Health Structures.
Identify mental health cases based on the golden questions and refer patients to the psychologist.
React and inform the Referral doctor in the clinic, for any important issues arising from the referrals.
Manage clinic activities ensure proper recording in the patient files.
Provide timely and complete report about the medical management, as well as the referral outcome and figures.
Respected and ensure infection prevention protocol adherence.
Ensure good communication amongst the staff, patients and patient family
2. Main activities
a) Daily Consultations:
Daily consultations for all children, below 15 years old, and chronic disease patients, providing quality treatment and ensuring the best, appropriate, medical care available in this context.
Provide essential health information to the patients and family to increase public health awareness.
b) Referral of cases:
Based on clinical diagnoses identify patients in need of secondary health care and ensure timely referral to the governmental health structures in the area, through proper communication with the referral doctor/nurse.
Based on golden questions identifies mental health issues and collaborate with the psychologist.
c) Surveillance:
develop a good understanding of the health conditions of the population and promptly report any concerns to the PHC manager or the PMR.
d) Management of daily work:
Ensure registration of the patients and record patient files, prescriptions and drug consumptions
Ensure good documentation of the patient clinical findings, vital signs monitoring, investigations, referrals and treatments.
e) Communication
Ensure good communication with line manager and technical referent for reporting for severe complications in paediatric and chronic disease patients,
Ensure Patient friendly behaviour attitude with patients and care takers/ family members
Ensure teamwork spirit within the clinic staff.
f) Hygiene and infection preventions control
Follow the universal precaution (asepsis and hygiene) and the waste management procedure (sharp waste, contaminated waste).
g) Training/ Meetings
Attend training and meetings conducted by MSF.
