Security Clerk

Under the overall supervision of Head of Office and the direct supervision of the Field Security Officer (FSO), the Security Assistant will be responsible for the following functions: In particular, he/she will:   Provide clerical support of operational matters that impact IOM’s staff safety and security, IOM’s operations and programs in country under the supervision of the FSO when required. Assist in maintaining all security files up to date. Follow-up with SIOC-UNDSS the internal security clearances approval for the missions. In case of emergency he/she should assist the Field Security Officer during the implementation of evacuation and emergency security plans especially when drills are scheduled. Assist in the preparation of Security briefings for IOM Lebanon staff. Perform basic security responsibilities from the mission when required. Ensure the full transfer of information before starting or finishing a duty shift; Assist security guards and FSO in the assigned area; support security guards and report any issues to FSO. Perform other duties as assigned by FSO related to mission’s security management.

High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with General Security in Lebanon is a distinctive advantage
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in security management, law enforcement or military disciplines is a pre-requisite, preferably with international experience.
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written; good drafting skills;
- Excellent inter-personal skills;
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion and tact and the proper physical security of sensitive documents/ information;
- Demonstrated gender awareness and gender sensitivity;
- Proven track record to work independently, good planning and organizational skills;
- Attention to details, personal commitment, discretion, efficiency, initiative, flexibility and respect for diversity;
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under time constraints;
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously within a team and with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds; Willingness to travel to remote locations.
- Proficiency in MS Office, internet and email.
