ROLE PURPOSE:
To promote the Rights of the Child in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child through co-operation with local and regional organizations, institutions, authorities and international organizations.
To follow up the operations of the CRG projects in Lebanon and to provide support on the CRG projects in the MENA Region. This should be done according to the guidelines of Save the Children International which aims to strengthen the civil society in which children are perceived as social players and human beings in their own right.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Beirut Field Office Deputy Area Manager
Dimensions: Save the Children Lebanon country office has a national coverage with field offices in Bekaa, Qobayat, Beirut and Tripoli. CRG projects are implemented all over Lebanon and in the MENA region, but they are managed by Beirut Field office and PDQ (Program, Development and Quality) unit, thus the coverage is national and regional.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
The CRG officer is, together with Beirut Field office DAM and the CRG Specialist/Advisor at the PDQ Unit, responsible for the proper implementation of the CRG Program and projects targeting civil society organizations in Lebanon. This includes budget as well as programmatic implementation and monitoring according to SCI standards.
The CRG officer has the following areas of responsibility:
Contributes to the development of the program’s annual work plan with realistic and achievable long-term goals and short-term objectives as well as the Annual Report; as well as budget development.
Follows up and reports on objectives that are achieved and on deviations from the Work Plan and budget.
Contributes to proposal writing and fundraising with potential donors.
Actively takes part in developing projects’ plan and follows up on implementation and reports back against the plans as required.
Finalizes contractual agreements between CSO partners / consultants and SCI in line with SCI’ contractual requirements.
Follows up and monitor partners based on contractual agreements made with SCI through conducting field visits, attending project activities and producing timely reports for internal use on the status of on-going programming.
Identifies and follow up with consultants on program specific components/activities.
Organizes and contributes to program activities/events directly implemented by SCI (invitees, resource persons, logistics, etc.)
Follows up on reporting requirements by partners.
Assists in the development of training/ awareness raising materials and Monitoring and Evaluation Tools, and organizes and conducts trainings for programme partners, beneficiaries and stakeholders.
Work with logistics staff for programme procurements and for the identification and contracting of local suppliers.
Contributes to advocacy and communication work.
Contributes to the institutional memory and the experience-sharing by reporting and feedback, innovating initiatives and by networking with other colleagues/regions.
Ensures that documents such as project memos, descriptions and agreements are developed and kept according to approved formats and SCI standard filing systems.
Supports and stimulates teamwork within SCI’ Lebanon offices.
Contributes to co-ordination between the program areas to ensure maximum impact of the activities in SCI’ programs.
Promotes accountability and transparency with all the implementing activities.
Participates in internal and external coordination meetings as required, and interact regularly with Save the Children’s other sectors (education, child protection, health/nutrition, shelter and WASH) to ensure coordinated and efficient programming.
Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in social work, international relations, human rights or development studies.
Minimum 1 years of experience in program/project management and budget control.
Knowledge of the Human Rights and the Child Rights Conventions and related treaties.
Capacity to combine field and office work.
Experience in managing a team or working with Civil Society Organizations.
Good time management skills
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
Computer skills (especially Excel)
Strength in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours, and capability to work in insecure environment
Available to travel in country and outside Lebanon if needed
Experience of working within SCI is a benefit
