BACKGROUND
The Lebanon Industry Value Chain Development (LIVCD) is a five year program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented under the leadership of Development Alternatives, Inc. (DAI). LIVCD Project aims to increase the competitiveness of selected value chains, expand the number of Micro and Small and Medium Enterprises that can compete in selected markets, improve linkages between those firms and other actors throughout the value chain, increase the gross value of products and services in local and export markets, and expand exports.
OBJECTIVES (SCOPE)
The Value Chain Coordinator will provide day-to-day technical assistance to facilitate training and
upgrading interventions for target VCs, and will oversee farmer demonstration plots and farmer field day programs to improve production technologies.
Specific Tasks
Support strategy sessions with value chain actors to brief, discuss, and validate each strategy.
Assist in promoting ways to improve buyer-seller intermediation for all targeted value chains.
Provide guidance on expanding the use of grades and standards within the region.
Assist in activities on increasing access to and use of market information within the region.
Work with beneficiaries, banks, and MFIs to increase access to and use of financial services within the region.
Support organizations to prepare all required applications, loan documents, and business plans for LIVCD and other financial assistance.
Provide support to LIVCD Monitoring & Evaluation unit.
Other duties as directed by the COP or his designee.
