Nutritionist

Overall Responsibility Under the supervision of the Project Officer, the nutritionist will be responsible for the implementation of the integration of nutrition within the child welfare sector, and being responsible for conduction of nutrition and care practices session with the targeted children in Kinder Gardens. Main Duties and Responsibilities Assessing on a regular basis the nutrition practices amongst the children in the area of interventions. Evaluating children nutritional needs based on the needs assessment study. Identifying children nutritional needs for the conduction of the nutrition and care practices. Organizing and implementing the community mobilization with the support of the social worker and the volunteer team. Conducting Nutrition and care practices awareness sessions. Stimulating the exchange between beneficiaries (children and their teachers) in discussion on a particular theme and make them more dynamic. Ensuring that the targeted children are provided with a healthy package of food including all nutrients they require. Creating a clinical nutrition treatment plan for children if found to be acutely malnourished. Conducting awareness session regarding the food hygiene, food preservation and culinary session’s implementation for children and their teachers. Monitoring progress during each field visit. Gathering and share appropriate information that would enhance the project implementation. Ensuring that all Services- related data (e.g, activity monitoring) is well managed and provides an accurate representation of the reality on the ground. Maintaining contact with Child Welfare Project Officer. Respecting and applying Islamic Relief policies and procedures such as “Child Protection Policy”. Submission regular reports to line management. Performing any other duty requested by line manager.
