Child Protection Trainer

PURPOSE OF POSITION:   World Vision Lebanon is looking for a short term professional expert with a strong background and experience in Trainings, Awareness Sessions and Capacity Building. This document outlines the consultancy and its responsibilities. It also defines the process interested second parties must undergo in order to bid for contract fulfillment, as well as a timeframe for overall project success.   We are seeking a very dynamic and well-organized person to assist the UNICEF funded project in Akkar and Beirut, using professional training and coaching skills to achieve the objectives of the program.   MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:         Plan, design and conduct awareness sessions for parents of children enrolled in the Psychosocial Support Centers in Beirut on Identification and early detection of child abuse, Positive discipline and Child Rights.        Plan and conduct Capacity building Workshops for Akkar Outreach Workers in order for them to conduct awareness sessions for parents on Identification and Early Detection of child abuse, Positive discipline, Child Rights and Child Labor.       Plan and conduct Capacity building Workshops for PSS animators working in the Psychosocial Support Centers in Beirut and Akkar on Class Management and Positive Discipline.        Through technical sessions and sharing of experiences (monthly coaching meetings), assist PSS animators and Outreach Workers to reflect about specific issues, cases, positive discipline tools and techniques,  difference between appropriate and inappropriate behavior, in order to help them keeping clear and supportive boundaries within their classrooms.   TIME FRAME: The Training officer will deliver the tasks starting February 22nd, 2016 till April 29th, 2016, for a total of 32 working days, divided as follows: AKKAR AREA BEIRUT AREA Five Days for trainings preparation Six full days Capacity Building and ToT for Outreach Workers, to conduct parents’ awareness sessions. Twelve days for Parents Awareness Sessions (including 2 days for Reports) Three field coaching visits including two technical sessions for PSS animators Two Technical Sessions for PSS Animators Two days Capacity Building for PSS Animators Two days Capacity Building for PSS Animators     *The dates of awareness sessions, trainings and field coaching visits will be set between the Contractor and World Vision project staff.   Contractor (Second Party) Specifications: A qualified candidate for the second party contractor must: Be sufficiently able to fulfill contract requirements within specified timeframe. Strong training skills with training experience. Significant technical expertise in Child Protection, Positive Discipline and Child Labor. Strong skills in working with people of all ages and social groups Strong experience in relevant fields of children rights, education and protection issues. Good Understanding of policies concerning Child Protection Familiar with civil society and NGO engagement.  Preference to candidate with field experience. Strong interpersonal skills and a sense of responsibility Excellent communication, reporting, and pro-active training skills Excellent writing skills, with thorough knowledge of Arabic and English Willing to travel within Akkar and Beirut regions
