Project Assistant (Primary Health Care Monitoring And Medication Coordination)

Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission (COM), and direct supervision of the Health Programme Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for assisting in the implementation of  IOM’s health assistance activities to meet specific obligations within IOM’s multi-sectorial Migration Crisis Operational Framework. The incumbent is expected to carry out his/ her duties in accordance with the strictest ethical standards, maintaining partnerships with Government, international organizations and non-governmental agencies, and with due respect for gender and socio-cultural sensitivities. In particular, he /she will:   Disseminate  information on the referral system and its procedures to the supported health facilities and beneficiaries, and assist in monitoring its implementation, in coordination with the Community Work Assistant Assist in field level monitoring of the health facilities supported by IOM, including monitoring of data collection, invoices, use of the funds allocated, staff attendance, and opening hours of the facilities. Maintain regular and direct contact with the personnel of the health facilities, and collect feedback Assist in preparing medication orders for three PHCs in South and two PHCs in Bekaa based on the available budget, remaining stock, consumption data, seasonal variations, cost effectiveness and availability of medications in the market in coordination with IOM Health Programme Coordinator and National Health Programme Officer. Assist the Health Programme Coordinator in monitoring the current drug supply and stock management system in all the PHCs supported by IOM in South and Bekaa and inform of any issue or discrepancy. Participate in assessments/surveys of the beneficiaries’ health needs and needs of the supported health facilities Assist the TB project activities in the South such as screening campaigns and awareness sessions, and the NCD Research project activities by conducting field level monitoring and follow-up on progress and compliance by staff at PHCs. Report any difficulties and challenges to the IOM Beirut health unit Assist in draft regular reports of field activities and medication stock and consumption, and share  relevant information needed for  project proposal development, donor reports and other documents Participate in Health Working Group meetings and other meetings in Bekaa, as required in close coordination with the supervisor. Perform such other duties as may be assigned

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completed University degree in Pharmacy or related health field.
Experience and qualifications:
• At least 4 years of relevant work experience, including experience in the field of pharmacy, and/or public health sector administration in Lebanon
• Experience working within international development and/or local NGO sector is a distinct advantage.
• Knowledge of project development, implementation and monitoring is an advantage
• Demonstrated understanding of the humanitarian system through work experience and/or studies is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of the South governorate, willingness to undertake daily travel locally.
• Proficiency in Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Internet explorer.
