Physiotherapist

Minimum required knowledge & experience:  Registered Physiotherapist University Degree or professional diploma in Physiotherapy 2 - 5 years clinical experience post graduation Good knowledge of written and spoken English, French also an asset. Good computer skills Professional Competencies:  Ability to work in a diverse and evolving professional environment Commitment to act with professionalism, integrity and compassion Ability to communicate clearly and to collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team Capacity to provide a continuum of high level physiotherapy care from initial patient admission,  through surgery and rehabilitation to discharge (often to challenging home environments) Previous clinical experience in amputee rehabilitation an asset Understands and implements the humanitarian principles of the Red Cross Movement Professional Skills Physiotherapeutic assessment of weapon wounded patients (orthopaedic, multiple trauma, neurological) Ability to identify physiotherapy treatment priorities and objectives and to develop an appropriate treatment plan Ability to safely implement evidence based physiotherapy techniques and to measure treatment outcomes Capacity to recognize problems or complications during the treatment and to inform relevant medical colleagues accordingly Ability to accurately document physiotherapy treatment and treatment outcomes in an efficient and timely fashion Advanced ability to educate patients and their carers on the post discharge physiotherapy plan  and the use of mobility aids / equipment Capacity to prescribe, use and maintain physiotherapy equipment and stock Preparedness to contribute in ward rounds, internal meetings and training sessions Excellent time management and organizational skills
