Makhzoumi Foundation Context:   Makhzoumi Foundation is a private Lebanese non-profit organization, established in 1997. Our ultimate mission is to empower Lebanese citizens - through improving their socioeconomic status, healthcare provisions, and environmental awareness, and by encouraging their quest for education - thereby enabling them to independently develop and progress their local communities, and to subsequently enhance the country’s civil society on a national scale.   For the last three years, in response to the on-going refugee crisis in Lebanon, the Makhzoumi Foundation Relief and Humanitarian Services Unit has been working from our Beirut office to deliver emergency and recovery projects in Hygiene, Shelter, Protection, Health and Livelihood Recovery sectors. The Makhzoumi Foundation has now expanded its remit through a new project under the Protection Sector offering new services in Beirut & Mount Lebanon. Makhzoumi Foundation is partnering with IRC and Unicef and has established teams that are providing Case Management, Psychosocial Support & Community mobilization activities to children who are at risk, families in need and women and girls who are at risk of Sexual & Gender Based Violence. This project is engaging in the MOSA national plan for work and capacity building in Social Development Centres (SDCs).       Job Overview/Summary: The MF Protection programme is seeking one Senior Child Protection Psychosocial Support (CP PSS) Workers to work in the community and support CP PSS Animators in the organization of psychosocial support activities. Major Responsibilities: Program: Deliver centre based or mobile parenting skills training for caregivers Identify appropriate spaces to deliver PSS activities in mobile settings following principles of safety and respect; make recommendations to ensure spaces are made safe and appropriate for PSS activities Support and supervise animators in the organization and delivery of psychosocial activities for children Where needed deliver Life Skills training for adolescents Work closely with the Community Outreach Team Leader on recruitment, training and engagement of volunteers in delivery of PSS activities Identify children requiring case management and ensure to refer them safely to the case management team Actively monitor the activity run by the animators Collect daily data on the activities organized and ensure that all the relevant forms are duly filled Work in close collaboration with the case workers and other MF staff Raise any concern or challenge to the CP Team Leader   Other Promptly report concerns or incidents to MF management and liaise with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for MF programs Engage with the coaching and training support provided to MF through IRC. In collaboration with the CP Team Leader, provide supervision and mentoring to PSS animators Ensure activities run in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of programs Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop MF programs   Key Working Relationships:   Position Reports to:  CP Team Leader Indirect Reporting: Protection Coordinator, Project Implementation Coordinator Other Internal and/or external contacts: Internal: CP PSS Animators, volunteers and other MF programs on the field   External: local partners   Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in social science or pedagogy preferable Work Experience: 2 years work experience minimum in working directly with vulnerable populations in the delivery of support services Experience in working with children and caregivers and organizing activities Experience working in NGO is a plus Experience in working in a cross-cultural environment preferable  Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:  Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure, enjoys working in the field Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children Good communication and interpersonal skills Language Skills:  Fluency in written and spoken Arabic & English Certificates or Licenses: Proficient in Word and excel   Working Environment:  Centre based with field visits, or within the mobile team in the field.   The tasks and responsibilities defined in this job description are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project needs.
