Agronomist / Supervisor

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES The Agronomist / Supervisor will be responsible of daily supervision of ACF FSL department’s agriculture activities in Baalbek-Hermel area (with possible extension to other areas in Bekaa and South). The supervisor will be tasked to supervise 4 field officers and indirectly 1 social worker to ensure their weekly tasks are accomplished in a quality manner and problems encountered during the implementation are referred to the Head of Project.  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES Good knowledge of vegetable gardening, livestock management, dairy processing, food security and livelihoods 2 years experience working in agriculture sector Experience in humanitarian and development organizations is desirable Experience in team management Good team worker Good listener High communication skills Context analysis Flexibility and problem resolution Good skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and good skills in smart phones  DETAILED OBJECTIVES AND TASKS Objective 1: To ensure timely and quality implementation of agriculture activities To support Head of Project (HoP) in design of the beneficiary selection process To supervise the field officers in the beneficiary selection process on a daily basis and to actively support the process To provide the HoP with technical input on the design of the agriculture activities (gardens, livestock farming, etc.) To provide the HoP with technical input on the design of the trainings to be provided to agriculture program participants To supervise the field officers in conducting the agriculture activities (input distribution, trainings, set up, maintenance, monitoring, reporting, etc.) To actively support ACF’s implementing partner in conducting their agriculture activities in the area To represent Head of Project on daily encounters with program stakeholders To provide verbal and written reports on the activities to the HoP on the agreed frequency Objective 2: To ensure timely and quality implementation of other food security and livelihoods activities assigned to him/herself To support the implementation of nutrition awareness raising sessions under the technical guidance of the Nutrition Manager and the direct management of HoP To support HoP in the design of culinary sessions To supervise field officers in conducting culinary sessions and to actively support the process To provide the HoP with technical input in the design of other FSL related trainings and actively engage in their implementation To provide verbal and written reports on the activities to the HoP on the agreed frequency To support the HoP in the planning of food security and livelihoods program items To supervise the field officers in implementation of the distribution plans and to actively engage in the process To provide verbal and written reports on the activities to the HoP on the agreed frequency Objective 3: To support other humanitarian activities of ACF upon the request of HoP To support the emergency interventions of ACF upon the request of HoP To support ACF assessment and monitoring activities of ACF upon the request of HoP To attend meetings with local municipalities, farmer’s cooperatives, beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries upon the request of HoP Objective 4 : Security Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols. Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan.
