Organiation Overview :        Since its creation in 1960, the mission of Terre des hommes (Tdh) has been to come to the aid of children in need. It endeavors at all times to defend the rights of children, in times of war and natural disasters, or in less publicized situations of distress. Today, the Terre des hommes Foundation is a significant force among children’s aid organizations in Switzerland and throughout the world. Tdh has development projects and emergency relief programs in more than 30 countries in two core areas: healthcare and child protection. Every year, Tdh offers sustainable solutions and a better future for over one million children and their relatives.   JOB: Youth Mobilizer   Job description: The community mobilizer is responsible, together with the community programme manager, for the planning, implementation, supervision and functioning of the different strands of the community programme. The community mobilizer supervises, assists and trains the entire team working in the aforementioned strands of the community programme. He/she participates in the process of setting up or reorienting these programmes. FIELD ACTIVITY / SUBJECT Activities / Responsabilities of the function / Job Strategy and policy Contribute to drawing up intervention strategies and their implementation by project teams Skills required Criteria for performance evaluation: Research and development Identify the best practice (or mistakes to be avoided) in Tdh projects or those of other players Participate in the development of new tools in his/her field of activity Personnel  management / team management Provide and facilitate information and communication in the team and the delegation Draw up the work schedule for his/her team Participate in the team's tasks and responsibilities Regularly exchange information with his/her manager Participate in regular meetings with the teams and within the delegation Help his/her direct supervisor in setting up the activities schedule every week Work closely with the various stakeholders - sectors within the delegation - other departments Work closely with voluntary staff, child protection committees, local associations and communities, and promote their self-reliance Assist his/her line supervisor in case of absence Ensure that the educational messages given out to the community are appropriate. Comply with the local directives and rules in force as regards HR management Skills development Be responsible for his/her own continuing training to develop his/her skills Identify, lead and/or participate in the training for voluntary staff, child protection committees, local associations and communities Participate in creating training materials Actively participate in the continuing training given in the framework of his/her duties The training activity is evaluated by the participants and the results lead to corrective action Creates training activities with reference to the policy of training Creates tools / training materials in accordance with the principles related to adult learning Defines learning and training objectives as well as the changes expected and measures their impact   Administration / logistics and recovery services Attend to the administrative matters in his/her field Assess future requirements and, together with logistics and his/her supervisor, order the necessary equipment within the required timeframe. Ensure that the equipment under his/her responsibility is properly managed Ensure that the equipment and medicines are used with a cost-conscious approach, in accordance with the requirements Skills required Advocacy - Representation - Networking Represent Tdh before the beneficiaries and communities, as well as the partners, sponsors and the media in the event of visits to the bases Project Cycle Management Participate in the implementation of projects in the area Values In his/her professional activities, adhere to the values defined in the strategic plan: commitment, expertise, integrity and self-reliance Undertake to comply with the Tdh Good Governance Policy and behave in an exemplary manner with regard to the various resources and logistics available to him/her for accomplishing his/her activities Work in different cultural backgrounds and in difficult situations, deal with confrontation due to differences (intercultural) Abuse Prevention Policy (CPP) - Operational Risk Management Undertake to adhere to the Terre des hommes Child Protection Policy and the principles connected to children's rights Undertake to ensure the best possible practical implementation of the Child Protection Policy (CPP) and the management of operational risks in his/her area of intervention and within his/her team Other Be available to carry out any other tasks deemed useful by his/her direct manager JOB SPECIFICATIONS Youth Group Responsible of the work with Youth Groups Organizes frequent meetings with youths Responsible of youths meetings and capacity building Identifies capacity building needs of youths and organizes training curriculum, with the support of T&D Department In charge of organization of youth conferences Coordinates and supports Community mobilizers in charge of forming groups & provide awareness Supports youth groups in designing micro projects M&E regularly monitors the activities, by using M&E tools Provides regular feedback on activities to his/her supervisor and suggests readaptation whenever necessary Participate in conducting surveys, baseline etc
