Information Management Manager - Regional Mission

MAIN TASKS OF THE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT MANAGER:   Information Management is the key within the mission set up and working environment. Within the Assessment, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Department, the IM manager will support the overall mission to design and run information Management system and tools allowing increasing capacities from needs assessment to monitoring activities. This includes geographical expansion of the existing Mobile Data Collection System and development to other functionalities (Rapid Assessment, Individual Assessment forms, Monitoring…). It is to be noted that the IM system should be supporting data collection to be used for external reports and advocacy purpose. The IM Manager will provide support in data collection, data processing, database maintenance and/or development, mapping, data analysis and internal and external reporting to the humanitarian community.         Under the responsibility of the AMEL Coordinator, you will be responsible for:    1.                   Database architecture and maintenance -       Develop simple, user-friendly data reporting tools, ensuring sex, age and vulnerable groups disaggregation are taken into account; -       Ensure the functioning and maintenance of the OPPR databases compiling all info gathered by field teams regading the emergency responses -       Ensure data collected from partner organizations in consistent and compatible format, enabling information sharing and analysis -       Support data cleaning, consolidation, quality control and information verification on data collected -       Ensure safe keeping of all data produced -       Provide IT technical support to operation teams and partners, according to needs   2. Information sharing and dissemination -          Ensure timely dissemination of necessary information to team members, partners and other stakeholders; -          Ensure communication with other agencies Information Management Officers for enhanced coordination and mapping of humanitarian response activities; -          Produce on request relevant reports, such as statistical figures, mapping in support of the communication and advocacy strategy -          Produce regular mappings of needs assessment and activity conducted in the framework of the OPRR -          Create information products in Arabic wherever required; 3. Development of a Mobile data Collection System (MDCS) -          With the support of the IM consultant and under the supervision of the AMEL Coordinator, participate to the design of the information system and the implementation of the MDCS -          Take part in all the necessary training in order to be in capacity to maintain the OPRR information system and provide technical support to partners in using MDC technology 4. Training and capacity building   -          Support partner staff in reporting and data management -          Support and train if necessary partner staff in using MDC technology     5. Reporting -          Maintain accurate records of data collected along the project. -          Write weekly activity and progress reports -          Participate to the elaboration of the monthly Sitreps 6. Coordination -          Regular exchanges and support with the Database officer in data compatibility and maintenance of the information system -          Ensure a good collaboration and close interaction with the field teams to ensure quality of data collection -          Participate to IM coordination meetings when relevant     Note that this job description must remain flexible, to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.
