Social Worker - Beirut

Assignment The Social Worker works under the direct supervision of the Head of Center and is based in the Center where Protection and Livelihood activities are organized. In addition to the part time or full time working agreement, the Social Worker is expected to work unconventional hours whenever there is a major activity (like a trip, celebration, etc.)   Tasks and duties Task #1/ Coordinate the Protection and Livelihood activities for adolescents, youth and adults: - Assess the needs and priorities of the targeted beneficiaries and define suitable activities based on participatory approach; - Follow-up attendance to the sessions, report absences and propose appropriate measures when needed; - Develop and follow-up on protection activities, awareness sessions, and recreational activities for adolescents, youth and adults;   Task #2/ Monitoring and evaluation: In coordination with the Program Coordinator, the Social Worker has the responsibility of assessing the activities with adolescents, youth and adults by designing and filling evaluation tools such as: - Create a file for each youth and adult; Ÿ- Organize a monthly meeting with teachers and trainers.   Task #3/ Social counseling - Arrange social counseling for individual cases, namely children seeking for assistance in educational and social field; - Create, develop and maintain an appropriate network of institutions, NGOs and relevant partners in the concerned field of activity; - Organize referrals and follow-up cases.   Task #4/ Outreach activities The Social Worker will assist the Head of Center in developing full understanding of the refugee population profile in Lebanon, their protection concerns and needs by: Ÿ- Conducting field visits at least once a month - Collecting data and updating a database -Ÿ Conducting surveys and studies as requested   Through networking and outreach activities, the social worker is responsible to: - Identify children and youth in need of protection and psycho-social support and provide them with appropriate activities; - Support the social worker in charge of the recreational and psycho-social activities to identify youth and adults in need of life skills and vocational trainings and educational support.   Task #5 / Reporting / Meetings - Prepare regular reports : - Monthly reports on activities - Monthly information sheet and other reports assigned by the center’s responsible - Summaries on each implemented activity once achieved - Attend and actively participate to weekly staff meeting; - Participate, as requested, in workshops and coordination meetings intended to improve professional knowledge and skills relevant to assigned responsibilities.   Other duties - Assist the center responsible in planning, monitoring, evaluation and follow up on all activities of the community center; - Mobilize community support and participation in the various community based activities; - Perform other duties as may be assigned.
