                      Lebanon Water Project (LWP)   Call for Resumes   Civil Society Advisor, Long term position   Background:   DAI seeks Civil Society Advisor candidates for the USAID-funded “Lebanon Water Project (LWP).” This five year project will work to increase reliable and sustainable access to potable water for Lebanese citizens; improve water management practices and enhance the efficiency and sustainability of public water utilities, while raising awareness on sustainable water use practices and promote better water governance to help assure long-term protection of Lebanon’s water resources.   General Objective:   The Civil Society Advisor will work closely with the Civic Engagement Component Lead to identify, engage, and partner with civil society organizations (CSOs) to encourage policy reform, strengthen water resources and services governance, and improve public awareness of water conservation.   Responsibilities:   With the Civic Engagement Component Lead, identify civil society organizations and lead outreach events. Coordinate with the Strategic Communications Team to design and organize public outreach campaigns and events. Partner with selected organizations in activity planning and implementation, such as water testing. Ensure involvement of CSOs that address women’s concerns and challenges and engage women. Collaborate with CSOs to develop locally appropriate solutions for improved water use behavior and water resources protection. Work with the Municipal Governance Advisor to coordinate activities. Other tasks as assigned.   Qualifications:   Previous experience working with various civil society organizations in Lebanon. Bachelor’s degree in public administration, management, international development, or related field. Familiarity with natural resources management preferred. At least 8 years of relevant experience and progressive responsibility in grants or subcontracts at the mid-level of an organization. Previous experience working with a donor funded project preferred. Ability to respond effectively to time sensitive demands and inquiries. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal skills. Excellent communications skills and ability to relate to people at all levels of an organization and of different multi-cultural backgrounds.
