Translator/language Expert

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate who has the skills to engage in our organization as a Translator/Language Expert. Who are weDRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. Since May 2011, DRC has been actively involved in the Lebanon emergency response to the Syrian crisis with presence in the North, East (Bekaa valley) and South of Lebanon. The DRC response is designed around 4 majors sectors: Food /NFI distribution, Protection, Shelter and livelihood support. As such, DRC is positioned in Lebanon as a main implementing partner of UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP, ECHO and DANIDA, For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk DutiesTechnical and linguistic proof reading of an Emergency Preparedness and Response Manual of 50 pages more or less – From Arabic to English About youTo be successful in this role you must have:Essential qualifications: • Good Arabic and English Language skills• Good knowledge about disasters and emergency response• Good knowledge about humanitarian aid and NGOs Essential experience:• Previous Arabic/English – English/Arabic translation experience• Previous NGO experience of writing SoPs, plans, or guidelines• Previous disaster management/ response or preparedness experience (in implementation) We offerAn interesting job (Service Agreement) in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 1 week contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from November 2015 and be willing and able to work in Beirut.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment (Service) for National staff.
