Community Outreach Senior Field Officer
Première Urgence – Aide Médicale Internationale is a not-for-profit, non-political and non-religious NGO. The NGO’s objective is to bring about a global response to the basic needs of populations suffering from acute humanitarian crisis and to allow them to recover their autonomy and dignity.
PU-AMI’s involvement in the Syrian Crisis is strong, with a wide range of programs implemented in most of the countries affected by the conflict.
In Lebanon, PU-AMI intervenes in the areas of shelter and rehabilitation, infrastructure, WASH, food security and livelihoods, health, IS/CS management and protection, and education and psychosocial activities in three regions, namely the Akkar district in North Governorate, Beirut and Mount Lebanon Governorates, and Saida and Jezzine districts in the South Governorate.

OVERALL MISSION
General objective
Under the direct supervision of the Community Outreach Project Manager, the Senior Field Officer is responsible for the qualitative, quantitative and timely implementation of the activities but especially the objectives linked to protection, community mobilization, individual case referral, awareness session.
The aim of the program is to implement a psychosocial approch in three schools based on the participation of the children, the parents and the teachers.
He/she directly implements the activities (build trustful relation with the community, refer individual case and follow up on them, community mobilization, awareness session, gather information about all other actors intervene in the site…) with the help of beneficiaries, local partners or volunteers.
Responsibilities and tasks
Activities implementation
- Organize, plan and implement, with the Community Outreach Officers, all activities in a timely manner, including awareness raising and information sessions, community mobilization,etc.
- Respect the design (activity chart) and required methodology of the project;
- Respect the principles of humanitarian protection and confidentiality;
- Provide technical guidance and follow up to partners, community members and volunteers.
Monitoring & Guidance
- Monitor the works on a daily basis and provide guidance to all partners.
- Ensure that Community Outreach Officers know, understand and follow best psychosocial activity practices and standards.
- Ensure that all partners and volunteers know and understand the referral pathway.
- Participate in individual debrief meetings weekly basis with the TL and the PM.
Communication & Follow up
- To be present on the differents sites and respond to beneficiaries’ queries with good knowledge of relevant information.
- To refer special cases which need individual attention and follow their progress with the different stakholders.
- Promote successful and strong relationship with other NGOs, community leaders, Municipalities etc. to properly support service provision and program activities.
- Ensure coordination with local partners.
- Attend trainings and assist in organizing trainings as required.
Reporting
- Oral and written reporting on the progress of Community Outreach activities on a daily and weekly basis to the Supervisor;
- Report immediately any delay, problem or other relevant information to the Community Outreach Manager

QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory requirements
Ø Language skills: Fluent in Arabic and very good in English
Education degree: On-site training in protection, psychologie or social sciences
Work experience: 1-2 years experience in a similar position (NGOs/private companies) in protection social or education fields
Computer skills: Good knowledge of Microsoft pack
Other:
- Preferably valid driving licence (2 years minimum) and willingness to drive PU-AMI cars
- Good knowledge in protection (espacially child protection), community mobilization, social works
- Good knowledge of North Governorate, willing to travel a lot locally and valid driving license
- Good communication skills with beneficiaries Effective stress management
- The ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines
- Good problem solving skills
