Under the overall guidance of the IOM Representative in Lebanon and direct supervision of the Health Programme Coordinator at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Beirut, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for implementing activities within the framework of the project “Enhancing Tuberculosis (TB) Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment for Syrian Refugees and Other Vulnerable Populations Affected by the Syrian Crisis in Lebanon”. The main objective of this vacancy is to ensure proper, cost effective procurement and installation of X-ray machines in different national TB centers across Lebanon.
In particular, he/she will:
Visit 3 national TB centers (Karantina, Zahle and Tripoli) to decide on type and specifications for X-ray devices to be installed
Define specifications and site requirements for mobile and/or fixed x-ray devices based on evaluation of the different sites.
Visit Saida TB center to specify all needed works so that the X-ray machine already available there will be fully functioning
List all tender documents needed from suppliers in preparation for the bidding process
Provide technical expertise in the selection of supplier during bid evaluation
Put site preparation plans in place to ensure proper installation of X-rays within the selected TB centers
Liaise with the Lebanese Atomic Energy Commission (LAEC) on all required documents for purchase and installation of these X-ray devices. It is the responsibility of the engineer to have all needed requirements from LAEC prepared and submitted in time.
Undertake site visits as needed to supervise the installation of these X-ray units at NTP facilities.
Perform commissioning and acceptance tests and sign off upon completion of activities in each of the NTP centers to ensure that the work completed is satisfactory and of good quality before releasing the last payment to the supplier.
Provide technical advice in his/her area of expertise, whenever needed, to different IOM projects
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

2. Valid Accreditation from the Lebanese Order of Engineers and Architects (OEA)
3. At least 5 years work experience in biomedical engineering project implementation and/or management.
4. Previous experience in implementing radiology projects within health facilities including knowledge on international standards. Previous work experience with UN/international organizations is an advantage.
5. Willing to travel to various NTP centers across Lebanon with his/her own transport vehicle
6. Computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office package (Office, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), internet and Email.
7. Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
