Sub Grant Manager

Search for Common Ground (SFCG) is a non-governmental organization working to transform the way societies deal with conflicts. We have acquired over 30 years of experience in peacebuilding and are based in 53 local offices worldwide. SFCG first worked in Lebanon in 1996, and we opened up our office here in 2008. The issues we address are multiple, such as conflicts arising within Lebanon's diverse society, tensions resulting from the increasing influx of Syrian refugees, security sector reform, as well as women’s socio-economic empowerment. In each project we seek to engage all stakeholders and strengthen local capacities in order to create sustainable change and increase social cohesion. Summary of Position Sub grant officer will be involved in all sub grants related matters. Emphasis on training partners on financial and reporting matters as per donor regulations is a big part of this position. Programmatic accompanying of sub grantees and strategic development are as well a major part of this position.   Main job requirements:   Grants: Deep knowledge of EU regulations on grants, partners financially and programmatically. Setting up sub granting protocols for Lebanon SFCG office in regard to selection of partners and the vetting process. Setting up a system for effective grants management as per donors regulations and SFCG internal guidelines Create a system for effective and easy to follow up of sub grants. Assist in drafting financial reports meant to donors in coordination with different departments of SFCG, donors and partners. Attend various meetings in order to match contracts to the decisions taken in these meetings Drafting contracts for sub recipients in coordination with different departments from SFCG, donors and partners Reviewing all sub recipients financial report for zero ineligibility in costs Lead the effort on sub grants closures (Financially and programmatically) and systematically coordinate and report to CD and PM. Evaluation of  sub granters in comparison to the burn rate Participate in designing means for easy financial and programmatic reporting on sub grants Partners: Capacity building of local partners in reporting financially and programmatically Educating partners on donors regulations and procedures Assist in expenditure monitoring for partners Educate partners on donors’ reporting tools Follow up on partnership agreements systematically to meet all deadlines and deliverables Work with partners to highlight difficulties and devise solutions Periodical visits to partners’ offices and SFCG sub offices Prepare partners for all audits     This job offer cannot be exhaustive and is not inclusive. Sub grants officers maybe called to fulfill other duties related to the line of their work and in accordance with the fulfillment of their duties.     Requirements and Qualifications -          Bachelor’s Degree in a related area (Master’s Degree preferred), Finance, Accounting, Business Management… -          Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in INGOs, including project financial management experience. -          Familiarity with partnerships and sub grants between INGOs acting in Lebanon and local NGOs. Skills • Proven ability to negotiate multiple relationships with various partners. • Demonstrated financial management and program administration experience. • Dynamic leader with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills • Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic. • Financial controlling/ Audit experience. • Strong oral and written communications skills. • Demonstrated management skills. • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel. • Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail.     Experience required:   3 to 5 years
