Gynaecologist - Bekaa Valley – Majdal Anjar

The contract will be for a 30% activity rate, with the hours spread over the week. The gynaecologist will be expected to perform morning and evening ward rounds each day, and be on call and available to attend for emergencies 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Extra hours worked will be paid accordingly. We’re recruiting as well for a back-up position which would involve the same requirements when the main gynaecologist is unable to attend (e.g. holidays, sickness). -Scope of responsibility: -To organize and execute obstetrical gynecological activities. -To support the maternity team in the organization. -Antenatal Consultations and monitoring of complicated pregnancies. -Function responsibilities include: -The obstetrician gynecologist has the responsibilities related to a doctor’s job, especially in the aim of assuring the quality and the continuity of care of patients (diagnostics establishment, indicate when surgical interventions needed etc.). -Management of complications during and after deliveries. -Management of acute complications during pregnancy (together with MW) + if necessary, observation/treatment at MCC or referral. -Knowledge and execution of neonatal resuscitation. -Proper and complete documentation of the patients’ files. -Consultation of all complicated pregnancies. -To support the midwife in the daily room tours. -All obstetric-gynecology activities must be executed according to hygiene standards, protocols and recommendations of MSF. -In collaboration with the expat midwife, planning and organization of the continuous training (theoretic and/or practical) for the maternity team (midwife and nurses). -To contribute in the supervision of the quality of disinfection and sterilization procedures of the material and the medical installation. -Detecting any possible ruptures, problems with medical material and communication to supervisor. -To actively monitor and report activities related to obstetric-gynecology emergencies (to fill correctly the patients’ file, questionnaires, statistics, reports) and to analyze the statistics. -Help the team to receive the appropriate information concerning the patients referred to obstetric-gynecology emergencies.

-Experience required: 3 to 5 years experience in obstetrical care is required; previous experience with nongovernmental organizations as a Gynaecologist is a strong asset.
-Required qualification:
• Bachelor degree in general medicine (Diploma);
• Formal and recognized specialty in obstetrical gynecology.
• Licensed to practice medicine in Lebanon (certified from ministry of health);
• Member of Lebanese order of physicians.
