Reporting directly to the Regional Project Manager and under the direct supervision
of the Chief of Mission in Beirut, and in close coordination with the Regional Office in
Cairo including the Regional Director and the Regional Migrant Assistance Specialist
(,RTS'), the National Project Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Regional
Project Manager in the implementation of nationally-based activities within the EU
funded 'Project to Protect and Assist Vulnerable and Exploited Migrant Workers in
the Middle East' (,PAVE').
1. Assistance to the management and implementation of the nationally-based activities within the regional project, PAVE.
2. Follow project established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work plans, data management tools (e.g. usage of MiMOSA), and other management tools and suggest adjustments as necessary.
3. Maintain accurate programme filing systems for individual case management, in line with IOM’s Data Protection Principles, contract agreements, outreach and monitoring forms and project evaluation forms;
4. Coordinate case management across PAVE-target countries including in providing technical assistance for staff across missions, provide approval for new cases, reintegration plans, and ensure the adherence to direct assistance SOP.
5. Assist in the provision of capacity building, training, and general support to project staff at the national level and across missions when requested.
6. Deliver thematic training to the project beneficiaries, including the development of new/tailored training materials. Assist in coordinating the organization of any national & regional conferences/ workshops/study visits
7. Maintain working relationships and liaison with all the relevant national project counterparts. Including monitoring IOM’s partner NGOs in Lebanon.
8. Participate in reviewing the project outputs and timelines versus the objectives as set forth in the project’s document; assist regional project manager in monitoring and analysis of the Lebanon-based component, specifically aimed at increasing effectiveness and implementing appropriate action;
9. Assist the project manager to prepare donor and other reports; prepare and collate general and specific information on project activities as requested by donors/external parties, IOM, and other internal counterparts as well as other reports, as requested.
10. Provide regular national project activity updates to the Regional Project Manager, COM, and RTS.
11. Regularly review and advise Regional Project Manager, the Chief of Mission, and Regional Thematic Specialist on the overall direction and strategy of the project for effectiveness, coherence and integrity, working to build linkages and synergies with other IOM programmes in the mission and region
12. Undertake duty travels as required.
13. Undertake other duties that may be assigned by the Regional Project Manager and/or COM and/or RTS.

• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, other national/international institutions;
• Knowledge of UN, IOM and NGO mandates and programmes in the humanitarian responses, IDPs, post conflict environment and development;
• Experience in coordinating with management is an advantage;
• Willing to travel as required.
