Within the context of the CSCS Program, the International Relief and Development (IRD) is looking forward to hire a facilitator to work with the CSCS Program Manager in facilitating networking sessions for Syrian CSOs in Turkey, Iraq and Jordan (specific locations yet to be determined). The facilitator should be familiar with the Syrian context and have a proven track record in facilitating similar network sessions combining Syrian CSOs from various backgrounds.
Before the delivery of the networking sessions the facilitator will perform the following activities:
Provide to the Program Manager a list of Syrian network groups who are eligible to be part of networking plan
Participate in online meetings to coordinate the distribution of work, brainstorm session on what topics could be suggested for discussion and agree on a work plan to be follow under the supervision of the Program Manager
Develop a networking plan with detailed activities in consultation with Program Manager
Secure the participation of network groups in the networking sessions
During the delivery of the networking sessions the facilitator will perform the following tasks:
1. Participation in networking sessions:
Participate in the networking sessions
Facilitate and coordinate the participation of network groups in the sessions
Lead the sessions discussions
Encourage participation and collaboration among network groups
Respond to tension when there is imbalance between participants from different political background
Submit a report on lessons learned and recommendations for improvement to the Program Manager after each networking session
2. Management Arrangements
Between 25 and 30 working days of work
(Important: each day is comprised of at least 8 hours of work – The facilitator is allowed to allocate the days/hours in a way he/she considers more appropriate and efficiently to complete the work requested in his/her contract).
3. Selection criteria:
Only Syrian facilitators are encouraged to apply for this position. Facilitator will be an expert in the field of networking and have the following qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise of subject matter, evidenced by previous work experience;
Knowledge of current practice and recent developments in the networking;
Deep knowledge of the Syrian context;
Experience in moderating networking sessions;
Experience in successfully presenting the subject matter to varied audiences in the form workshops and training, etc…
