Marketing And Communications Intern

  Mentor Arabia seeks a dynamic, motivated and committed person looking for an internship opportunity in the field of marketing, fundraising and communications with a well-known community based nonprofit organization. This internship is an excellent opportunity to provide on hand experience and knowledge in various aspects of work related to the fields listed above.  Responsibilities Assist in planning and implementing fundraising events Assist in designing marketing material for major events hosted by Mentor Arabia Draft, distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories Help with development of content for social media and website Assist in organizing and implementing awareness campaigns and activities Advocate for Mentor Arabia’s cause and work in the community at large Initiate new fundraising, marketing and communication ideas Assist in preparing acknowledgement letters and other correspondences Undertake specific research (when needed) to help bring new supporters on board e.g. celebrities, corporate, new events   Qualifications Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., Marketing/Communications, or Public Relations, Hospitality, Nonprofit Management, or other relevant major) Previous internship or experience in marketing or communications or fundraising is a plus Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel) An effective communicator, both written and oral Has the ability to communicate in a professional manner with press and community contacts Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, multi-tasker and meet deadlines Interested in nonprofit development/fundraising work   Duration  We ask for a minimum commitment of 3 months for 3-5 days per week to ensure that the post is beneficial to both the intern and Mentor Arabia, while we cannot guarantee a permanent position on completion of this post.   Compensation  Volunteering  Internship / Transportation fees provided per working day   How to apply Please send your CV and covering letter expressing your interest by email or post to: hr@mentorarabia.org Deadline for application is Oct 31st, 2015 Please use the title Marketing and communication Intern in the subject line header.  Successful applicants will be contacted within two weeks of the closing date to be invited for interview.
