Psychosocial Support Consultant

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate that has the skills to engage in our organization as an PSS consultant. Who are we?The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assistance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties• Review DRC’s PSS child and caregivers curriculum and identify gaps and existing PSS curricula available in Lebanon and MENA region• Conduct field visits to consult field staff on the lessons learned, best practices and gaps on the current curriculum and range of activities to be included as part of this curriculum; • Conduct age and culture appropriate FGDs with children and caregivers to collect feedback on the curriculum and evaluate needs for sessions around specific vulnerabilities; • Produce a short report on the field consultation and review of current approach and formulate recommendation on the revision of the current approach• Revise the curriculum on the basis of collected feedback based on existing and new     resources• Develop age and culture appropriate sessions for child and caregivers specifically targeting Child Labor and violence and neglect within the household; • Conduct field-level pilot testing of the revised curriculum; • Train staff on the revised curriculum.• Briefing note on evaluation of the current curriculum/approach and recommendations on way forward• In close collaboration with the Protection Monitoring Analyst, supplement the data collection, analysis and drafting of a report on Child Labor About youTo be successful in this role you must have:• Bachelor/ Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other related field;• Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times• At least 5-7 years of experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings, specifically in child protection in emergency; • Experience in developing tools, guidance and curricula on child protection PSS Ideally you will also have: • Master’s degree in Social Work and/or Psychology• Previous experience in working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon We offerAn interesting consultancy job in one of the best NGO’s in the world. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 33 days contract,.
