  INTERSOS Office LEBANON National Consultancy Position _____________________________________________________________________________ Position:          GBV consultant (LGBTI survivors)   Job site:           Mount Lebanon (1 Position) Report to:         Project Manager with Technical Supervision of the Protection Officer Status:              Consultancy _______________________________________________________________________ The GBV consultant (LGBTI survivors) is responsible for internal and external capacity building of field staff on working with LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual and Intersex) survivors, in accordance with INTERSOS’ mandate, priorities and donor agreements. The GBV Consultant will focus on provision of support all staff working directly with GBV survivors (LGBTI) under the INTERSOS programme in Mount Lebanon. The GBV consultant directly reports to the INTERSOS Project Manager and Protection Officer.   Project component: INTERSOS is providing case management services and psychosocial support to Women at Risk, survivors of SGBV, and children affected by Child Protection concerns. As a considerable part of our work, providing on GBV services includes working with LGBTI. Beneficiaries are provided with emotional support and case management services. These services can include psychosocial counselling and advice, support in dealing with protection concerns and advocating for access to services. The consultant will be requested to develop training material and build staff capacity for the INTERSOS team in dealing with particular challenges the LGBTI community faces in Lebanon.   Responsibilities/duties for the GBV consultant: Build internal and external staff capacity by giving monthly training sessions with field staff Draft and finalize training material package as a standard guideline and practical guidance on counseling and working with SGBV-LGBTI survivors, to be shared internally and externally In line with the training material package, draft and finalize a final report with general context and recommendations on working with SGBV-LGBTI survivors in Lebanon; including specific recommendations on challenges and unmet needs for future programming Mainstream standard guidelines as per the guidance developed throughout INTERSOS team Develop, plan and conduct information and outreach sessions for LGBTI in cooperation with ROVs (Refugee Outreach Volunteers) and Field Staff and Protection Officer. Write weekly report on sessions and report to Protection Officer and Project Manager. Develop, plan and conduct coordination meetings with LGBTI community in cooperation with Field staff and Protection Officer. Develop and regularly update mapping of all relevant services available to LGBTI community in Mount Lebanon, to be shared with Field Staff and Protection Officer on a regular basis Develop and maintain cooperative relations with other relevant parties (service providers working with LGBTI community). Respect deadline for the delivering of weekly and monthly reports and any kind of urgent reporting to the Protection Officer. Any other task not listed here but necessary to the project and activities. Available to work extra hours and available at the weekend for emergency cases.   Qualifications: Education and experience: -          University degree in Psychology, Social Work or Sociology. Advanced university degree -          Relevant professional experience, not less than three (3) years -          Prior experience in working with or coordinating with other international humanitarian organizations or governmental authorities; -          Prior experience with UNHCR’s persons of concern; -          Familiarity with international protection and human rights legal standards; -          Familiarity with relevant national legal framework -          Experience working with GBV survivors, specifically LGBTI community -          Knowledge on how to communicate with and counsel GBV survivors   Skills and traits: -          Excellent command of (written and spoken) Arabic and English; -          Computer/IT literacy (OS Windows/Linux, MS Office, Internet etc.); -          Excellent analysis and reporting; -          Excellent communication and organization; -          Excellent knowledge and understanding of local communities and customary rules; -          Punctuality and respect for applicable rules and procedures; -          Strongly objective and impartial reasoning; -          Ethical and transparent decision-making; -          Independence, i.e. conducting tasks with minimal supervision, and stress resilience; -          Self-motivation, goal/result-orientation and team work; -          Flexibility, tolerance and maturity.   APPLICATION PERIOD: closure 12/10/2015 - 4 PM   Please send CV and Motivation letter to intersos.mount.lebanon@gmail.com, mentioning clearly the position ‘GBV Consultant (LGBTI survivors) in the subject of the e-mail.
