Part-Time Assistant For The Cooperative Of Native Tree Producers Of Lebanon

I. INTRODUCTION Project Background Information The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the United States Forest Service (USFS) that provides technical assistance and institutional support for sustainable native tree reforestation and wildfire management. With administrative offices in Beirut, LRI technical experts manage a multi-year work program of activities throughout Lebanon in collaboration with grassroots organizations and local communities. The Cooperative of Native Tree Producers of Lebanon The Cooperative of Native Tree Producers of Lebanon (Hereafter referred to as CNTPL) is a cooperative registered at the Ministry of Agriculture (Coop register No. 1/1753). The CNTPL members are owners and managers of 9 nurseries distributed geographically across the country, all producing high quality native tree seedlings following the LRI-adapted protocols for seedling production. The nurseries include:    II. PURPOSE OF THE JOB LRI seeks a part-time assistant for CNTPL to work together with LRI staff and CNTPL members to: -          Support CNTPL in their organizational and institutional development -          Facilitate internal communication among CNTPL members -          Communicate with identified and potential partners of CNTPL to broaden their network and help them develop a largest list of buyers -          Develop Memoranda of Understanding between CNTPL and its partners and contracts with buyers -          Assist in drafting a marketing strategy for CNTPL -          Ensure the implementation of LRI workplan tasks related to CNTPL -          Coordinate CNTPL regular meetings and record and disseminate meeting minutes -          Coordinate seedling orders and supplies and keep a financial record of CNTPL sales and purchases -          Assist LRI Nursery Component Manager in CNTPL-related tasks -          Assist CNTPL in event coordination and in achieving higher visibility on the national level..   III. EXPECTED DELIVERABLES  In close coordination with the LRI’s Project Director and LRI’s Nursery Component Manager, the CNTPL part-time assistant will: -          Assist in the development of a marketing strategy for CNTPL   -          Assist in the development on an internal statute and internal communication channels within CNTPL -          Assist in the development of clear financial procedures -          Keep meeting minutes and clear documentation of all CNTPL activities and events -          Assist the LRI Nursery Component Manager and LRI M& E officer to develop quarterly reports and fill data on indicators on tasks related to CNTPL   IV. REQUIREMENTS The CNTPL part-time assistant should possess the following competencies, skills, and experience: •     BA or BS preferably in Agricultural Engineering, Plant Sciences or any related field At least 2-5 years of relevant experience in the field of agriculture and administrative/organizational procedures Strong analytical and inter-personal skills; Excellent reporting and presentation skills; Willingness to travel outside Beirut to the nurseries if needed; Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic; Advanced computer literacy
