Visual Production Consultant

We are looking for a Visual Content Producer who will be responsible for the design, collection, and production of all audio-visual content of the DRC Lebanon interaction web-based platform. Working directly with the MEL-IM Coordinator and Communications Manager, the VCP will be responsible for visiting all relevant field sites and compiling relevant content through to launch event of the prototype platform.  Who we areDRC is an International non-governmental organization (NGO), which provides protection and promotes durable solutions for refugees and displaced people worldwide suffering from the effects of war and humanitarian crisis. We operate in more than 30 countries servicing over 1.5 million people. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties•Develop an implementation timeline for the tasks required by the position in coordination with MEL-IM Coordinator;•Implement the communications strategy set by MEL Department and as per DRC’s mission and mandate•Coordinate and consolidate MEL & Communications Departments’ input to design, production of material and interview requests;•Monitor and provide regular feedback on specific communications activities as requested, including but not limited progress report;•Undertake field visits to DRC project sites in all areas of operation (including Akkar, Tripoli, the Bekaa, and South Lebanon), as directed by the MEL-IM Coordinator and Communications Manager;•Coordinate with programs’ focal points on identification of potential interest cases and on-going activities to collect photography, short films, and human interest stories linked to relevant DRC projects, including Shelter / Collective Site / Community Empowerment / Livelihoods programme areas;•Plan and implement at least two communication events and two communication product outputs in lieu of final launch of online platform (scheduled for March 2016);•Produce at least 25 human interest stories and 5 audio-visual portfolios covering all five field office areas of operation;•All material collected must be done so in accordance with DRC’s informed consent principles, communication guidelines, and protection policies – approved by the line and technical coordination managers named above. About you•Undergraduate degree/Technical college diploma (or equivalent) in photography/film, graphic design, fine arts, communication arts, media or other relevant areas;•At least 3 years of experience in communications, photography and film, including shooting / editing / and the production (basic film editing);•Experience with relevant softwares – such as Adobe series, PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator etc (or equivalent);•Experience in interviewing and story collection in Lebanon, particularly with refugee and other vulnerable populations;•Experience in planning and delivering communications/promotions events, such as photography exhibitions, website launches, film premiers etc;•Extensive experience in communications and diffusion techniques, reporting, documentation, publication, and audio-visual material in relation to humanitarian and development fields;•Excellent writing, editing, and speaking skills in English and Arabic (or extensive experience working with translators in Lebanon);•Priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate a high-level of motivation, social and inter-personal skills, and experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders and nationalities.
