Project Coordinator – Drama industry- Syria   Search for Common Ground (SFCG) is a non-governmental organization working to transform the way societies deal with conflicts. We have acquired over 30 years of experience in peacebuilding and are based in 53 local offices worldwide. SFCG first worked in Lebanon in 1996, and we opened up our office here in 2008. The issues we address are multiple, such as conflicts arising within Lebanon's diverse society, tensions resulting from the increasing influx of Syrian refugees, security sector reform, as well as women’s socio-economic empowerment. In each project we seek to engage all stakeholders and strengthen local capacities in order to create sustainable change and increase social cohesion. Summary of Position The Project Coordinator will be responsible for mapping the Syrian Drama industry and establishing a network of 30 stakeholders from across the landscape of the Syrian Drama industry. S/he will work closely with local partners, consultants, participants and all relevant community stakeholders. S/He will be directly involved in all production phases short videos and clips, especially in coordinating between producers, directors and media outlets. The project coordinator will oversee day-to-day operations and implementing the project’s activities and will ensure that the implementation of the project itself is on-time, within budget, and to maximum effect. This includes providing a regular presence with stakeholders and networking contacts with participants, local actors as well as community stakeholders. The project coordinator will be responsible for managing SFCG staff and resources devoted to this project in conformity with Lebanese law and SFCG’s internal operating practices. S/he will also collaborate closely with the team in Beirut, the MENA team, as well as trainers and technical experts working on the project to ensure the deliverables are of high quality, and delivered in a timely manner. Responsibilities - Develop and maintain proactive, positive and professional relationships with media outlets and stakeholders across the Syrian drama industry landscape. - Implement responsibilities in a timely manner ensuring good quality action and credible outcomes; - Implement the financial and administrative systems necessary for the execution of the project; - Maintain regular written and oral reporting with the donor and SFCG’s Country Director; - Develop regular reports on project activities and finances - Maintain updated security plans; - Oversee the management and reporting on project activities, ensuring timely grant reporting and compliance with contract and donor guidelines in coordination with the local partners; - Ensure necessary prior arrangements are made for training activities organized by Lebanese and international trainers - Maintain responsible media coverage of program events and issues related to SFCG mission; - Collaborate with the Projects Manager and the Program Director on the implementation of the project; - Ensure compliance with SFCG Operations Manual policies and procedures; - Oversee the management and reporting on project activities, - Develop and maintain project records such as databases, reports and records of decisions. As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties.   Requirements and Qualifications -          Bachelor’s Degree in a related area -          Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in implementation of projects in the field of peacebuilding and/or development - Familiar with current and past trends within the Syrian Film or Drama industry.  -  Established network in the Syrian drama industry is a plus. Applicants with a contact book already established will have priority.   -       Knowledge of and previous experience in the peacebuilding field as well as familiar with the Syrian context.   Skills • Dynamic leader with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills • Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic. • Strong oral and written communications skills. • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel. • Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail.   Experience required:   3 to 5 years in the drama industry in Syria with preferably an established network throughout the media landscape in Syria.   Education degree: Bachelor Degree (Master Degree preferred) Field of education: - Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, Peace and Conflict, Political/Social sciences, Film studies, Media Studies, Journalism or in a related area.
