DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the jobUnder the direct supervision of the CP/GBV officer and with technical support of the GBV coordinator, the adolescent girls’ assistant is responsible for the organization and provision of structured activities in static (women centers) and mobile safe spaces to adolescent girls and their caregivers. She will be in charge of identifying and responding to the needs of adolescent girls and their caregivers in the communities identified by the teams, in order to prevent their exposure to early marriage and strengthen their positive coping skills. Duties• Participate in assessment exercises to identify the settlements of most vulnerable adolescent girls in the catchment areas of the centre-based and mobile activities and support the development of baseline surveys; • Participate in safety assessment exercise to ensure risks faced by adolescent girls are adequately captured, and ensure proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies)• Participate in community safety planning exercises to ensure involvement of adolescent girls and their caregivers• Carry out field visits and conduction of information sessions on available services, reproductive health, hygiene, etc. • Mobilize adolescent girls and their caregivers in target locations to participate in psychosocial activities provided by the DRC, including emotional support groups, skills-building, non-formal education and recreational activities• Facilitate life-skills activities targeting adolescent girls and their caregivers based on the DRC’s adolescent girls, engaging men, and parenting skills curricula • Collaborate with caseworkers and other PSS team members to ensure GBV responses are taking into account specific needs and vulnerabilities of adolescent girls and youth-friendly communication techniques are used About youTo be successful in this role you must have Master’s degree in Social Work and/or Psychology or public health; previous experience in working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon, with cases of Child Protection and GBV, in life skills training. Ideally you will also have Analytical skills, flexibility, Teamwork skills, Staff development, and conflict management We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 month contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from September 2015 and be willing and able to work in North Bekaa.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
