Internship : Agriculture Intervention In Bekaa Valley

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The Agriculture Intervention Intern will work under the daily supervision of the Food Security and Livelihoods(FSL) Head of Project (HoP). The main role of the intern is to assist the FSL Department in designing small scale agricultural production interventions. The intern will be required to write weekly reports on address to the HoP and the FSL Coordinator. REQUIRED SKILLS Adequate level of understanding of good social skills, Good skills in listening and reporting, Good organizational skills, Fluency in Arabic and English, Good computer skills in Excel/Word/Outlook are required. Some understanding of the agriculture sector in Lebanon would be a plus. DESIRED SKILLS Adaptation capacity and flexibility in an unpredictable context. Empathetic and patient, good team spirit. Good knowledge of the local customs is strongly requested.  DETAILED OBJECTIVES Objective 1: Support design of agriculture activities Actively participate in the design of assessments for the identification of agriculture activities Actively participate in the assessments through household visits, focus group discussion, key informant interviews Support pilot agriculture activities through sensitization/training sessions, monitoring activities  Objective 2: Reporting Write bi-weekly reports on activities and share them with FSL HoP and FSL Coordinator. Support the FSL HoP for reports related to agriculture activities. Write a handover report at the end of the internship to be submitted to FSL HoP and FSL Coordinator. BENEFITS  The intern will: Have the opportunity to participate in any internal trainings of ACF (if any scheduled) on Food Security and Livelihoods, and Nutrition Security;  Gain a valuable experience in a well-known International NGO Receive indemnity to cover costs for daily transportation and lunch (USD 300 / month for full time internship during the 1st 2 months, replaced by 50 % of ACF Field Officer salary during the third month) ACF cannot guarantee full time work opportunity upon the completion of the internship program. However, a positive experience with ACF would be considered a plus in future employment opportunities. SCHEDULE The intern will work 3 to 5 days a week from 8:00 to 17:00, according to his/her availibility. Working days need to be agreed with HoP directly at the beginning of the internship.
