General objective of the job
The Project Coordinator oversees the implementation of the project and is responsible for the
achievement of the objectives of the project proposal.
Position in the organization
The Project Coordinator is part of the Program Department reporting to the Program Manager.
She/he collaborates with and supports when needed the Program Development Manager and the MEAL
specialist. The Project Coordinator also works closely with the Operation Support Manager to ensure
proper reporting and coordination with partners, donors, WCH team in Beirut and head office in relation to
the specific project.
Result areas
1. Monitoring the project’s implementation
· Visits partners to ensure activities are implemented in accordance with the proposed activities in
emergency grants, including ensuring that procurement is carried according to project plans.
· Follows up on the implementation of the whole project.
· Ensures, promotes and facilitates that the principles of child safety, inclusion and child
participation are integrated into all project activities
· Ensures communication with project staff, children and communities targeted by the project.
· Ensures the use of the WCH tools and formats for M&E in close collaboration with the Project
Emergency Manager and the MEAL specialist.
Result: the project is monitored in such a matter that all issues are discussed and all concerns are
reported.
2. Coordinating and representing WCH
· Represents WCH Lebanon in relevant working groups and other coordination platforms upon
request of PM or PDM
· Supports advocacy and communications as needed
· Regularly communicates and coordinates with all partners in the field
· Coordinates trainings, workshops and conferences related to specific project.
· Liaises with professional counterparts of (inter)national authorities and organizations;
· Timely identifies, informs and discusses any issues with his/her supervisor
Result: Coordination with various groups are conducted in such a way that requests are answered Child
Safety and Protection and concerns are reported.
3 Program Development Support
· Provides the partners with content support and organizational capacity building support in
consultation and agreement with the PDM. And PM and in line with partnership strategy
· Supports the quality and the development of the program as needed
4. Handling Management and Administration activities
· Manages, supports, trains partners when relevant
· Ensures that s/he conducts performance appraisals of the partners as per plans
· Ensures that all internal, project and donor reports are submitted on time.
· Weekly controls the budget to ensure proper expenditure of each budget line, and alert in case of
risk (under spending, overspending, etc.)
· Oversees the implementation of the project.
Result: management and administration of activities are handled in such a way that budget expenditures
are controlled and reports are delivered on time.
Knowledge and Experience
Degree in social sciences or related field
At least 2 years of relevant experience in similar position
Preferably previous experience working with children/refugees
Preferably some experience in Child Protection and psychosocial support programming, or education in
emergencies
Preferably some level of experience in providing training and capacity building
Strong interest in developing professionally in terms of CP/PSS programming, Education in emergencies,
Skills and Competencies
Strong communication skills
Fluency in Arabic
Strong expression and writing skills in English
Flexibility
Cultural sensitivity
Attention to detail with strong follow up
Team oriented, with ability to work efficiently independently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office - word processing, spread sheets, etc.
