General duties and responsabilities:
Act according to the guiding principles of GBV, Child Protection and PwSN case management including: survivor centered approach, respect of confidentiality, prioritize according to safety concerns, ‘do not harm’, ensure a non-discriminatory approach, act according to the best interest of the child, ensure accountability, respect professional boundaries and avoid conflict of interest;
Ensure that protection principles are understood, maintained and enforced;
Provide direct support and care for vulnerable case with protection concerns (including survivors of gender-based violence), including psychosocial support and case management.
Case Management:
Detect, counsel and follow up individual cases identified by the team or referred by other agencies;
Conduct psychosocial assessment of vulnerable cases, including environmental, emotional, behavioral, and social factors as well as resources and strengths that impact the individual well- being;
Plan with the Protection Officer National (P.O National) and conduct home visits to assess the living conditions of the cases, when needed, and if the child/the survivor/the PoC give her/his consent;
Advocate with different institutions and services providers to help the clients to access needed resources and services;
Ensure coordination and synergy with the main service providers in the area of intervention for prompt referral, follow up and information sharing;
Manage, fill, archive specific forms for cases profiling, referral and weekly reporting ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness;
Monitor and follow up the outcome of the assistance provided;
Be available to provide basic emotional support for urgent cases;
Manage the hotline according to the internal procedures and under the P.O National supervision;
Ensure the provision of emergency cash assistance for the most vulnerable clients (high risk cases), according to the needs of the clients, the agreed criteria and the internal procedures and under the supervision of the P.O National.
Ensure that data protection protocol is respected;
Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the centres including case management meetings and case conferences meetings or any other meetings when required by the P.O National.
Accomplish any other assignments given by supervisor or the PO International and PM;
Monitor the work of case workers in his/her team;
Act as a focal point for the case management activities for the center where is based.
Psychosocial activities
PSS Activities include:
Participate and collaborate in other activities (recreational, psychosocial, awareness and non-formal education) conducted in INTERSOS centers and/or in other partner’s centers when requested by the P.O National;
Support the organization of specific events or activities inside or outside the centres.
Monitoring and Reporting
Provide daily and weekly updates to the P.O National about new cases assessed;
Elaborate and send the weekly report to the P.O National, P.O International and PM.
Collect the data about cases assessed and assisted by case workers in her/his team to update the internal case tracking sheets (weekly and monthly reporting)
Any change to the proposed activities should be discussed with INTERSOS Office.
A high degree of flexibility on the part of all staff is expected in order to respond to the ever-evolving situation. This job description mat change based on the situation in the field. He/she can be asked required to perform other related duties as identified by his supervisor.
