Education Project Assistant

Under the umbrella of a UNICEF sponsored programme aiming at ensuring right to education and support to resilience to girls and boys affected by the Syrian Crisis in Lebanon within a protective and inclusive environment, the Education Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting implementation of the education project in South Lebanon Palestinian camps in collaboration with the local partner. In particular, s/he will be involved in the monitoring and reporting of non-formal education and psycho-social support activities, under the overall supervision of the Project Manager. Duties and responsibilities Participating into the planning of the education activities for the upcoming school year in cooperation with the Project Manager; Supporting quality implementation of the education activities through regular visits to the community centers’ and schools’ learning spaces in coordination with the Project Manager and the local partner Project Coordinator; Ensuring active learning methodologies and child protection strategies are included in the implementation of activities; Monitoring of education activities towards achievement of goals and targets, including education and psycho-social support activities, awareness building activities, trainings, and others; Monitoring qualitative impact of the activities, collecting relevant information and means of verification in coordination with the Project Coordinator; Providing timely and detailed reporting of project activities in English to the Project Manager; Providing technical educational support to the running education activities; Participating in the project’s coordination meetings and elaborating action points briefings; Participating in coordination meetings with donors, stakeholders and working groups in collaboration with the Project Manager; Supporting in the liaison with UNRWA and the relevant stakeholders (INGOs, Local NGOs, etc.) under the supervision of the Project Manager and the Programme Manager; Other duties as assigned.   Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Education or relevant field A minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in programme position preferably with Local or International NGOs in the field of education Previous exposure to UNRWA institutional setting, especially regarding the education services Ability to conceptualize, develop, plan, suggest and manage community-based education activities  High mobility and availability to spend up to 50% of working hours on field, according to the needs Ability to work independently as well as to coordinate with a field colleagues Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English Good command of Excel and Microsoft Word Strong cross-cultural sensitivity and flexibility Proved communication and negotiation skills
