Psychosocial Support (Pss) Assistant

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to provide psychosocial support to women and girls and to deliver information sessions and refer protection cases to relevant services. Who we are  DRC has been operating in the MENA for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dkAbout the jobThe PSS assistant will be responsible to establish committee of women, girls, men and boys among refugees and host communities in south Lebanon. In addition, the PSS assistant should deliver information sessions and will identify and refer protection cases to relevant services.  Duties:• Conduct mobile field information sessions to refugee settlement and host population areas.• Identify and refer most vulnerable identifies cases as well as individuals faced with protection concerns (GBV, Child Protection, etc…)• Support analysis of collected data and trend with the protection officer and team.• Follow up on the committees work: track beneficiaries and organize activities.• Meet weekly with service providers to update service mapping in coordination with the PSS officer.• Maintain good relationship with key stakeholders (Municipalities, Local authorities, Service Providers and Host communities’ representatives).• Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the PSS Officer. About youTo be successful in this role you must have:• Bachelor/Degree in Social work, Counseling, psychology or other related field;  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times; • Flexibility in working overtime when needed.• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel).• Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well• At least 2 years of experience in counseling survivors of gender-based violence or vulnerable women and girls with international organizations and humanitarian settings.• Previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon. You must be available to start work from 4th of August and be willing and able to work in Tyre.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
