Child Protection Officer

ASSIGNMENT The Child Protection Officer is based in Beirut with frequent field visits to the Bekaa. She/He works under the direct supervision of the Emergency coordinator and the Child Protection Coordinator and oversees the Child Protection programming in all the AMEL centers of the country. She/he is responsible for the smooth implementation of the Child Protection programs and activities in close coordination with other agencies and local authorities. TASKS AND DUTIES Task #1/ Support the Centers in the field in the organization of Child Protection activities: - Assess the needs and priorities of the targeted beneficiaries and define suitable activities based on participatory approach in coordination with the Child Protection Coordinator and the local staff; - Identify training modules to be provided to the Child protection staff when needed; - Assess needs for supplies and materials to conduct the activities. Task #2/ Meetings/Trainings: - Attend Interagency coordination meetings on Protection in coordination with UNICEF and relevant partners; - Develop and organize awareness sessions or capacity trainings on Child Protection matters. Task #3/ Monitoring and evaluation: - Supervise the CP staff in assessing the impact of the activities on children by introducing evaluation tools; - Organize monthly meetings with the teams and discuss challenges and project developments.   Other duties - Assist the Program and Emergency coordinators in the planning of Child Protection activities for the targeted population, including budgeting, planning, monitoring, evaluation and follow up; - Mobilize community support and participation in the various community based activities; - Perform other duties as may be assigned.
