Disability Trainer (Consultancy)

Terms of Reference   Technical Expert/Consultant for life skills       1-    THE PURPOSE OF THE CONSULTANCY:   World Vision Lebanon is looking for a short term professional expert with a strong background and experience disability. The consultant’s main role will be to train WVL project social workers on dealing with children with disability and their parents.     2-    REQUIRED TASKS:   Overall The Consultant will prepare and give the material for the training on disability to be given to project staff. Project staff will be able deal effectively with specific social cases related to disability and will be able interact professionally with children and parents of children with disabilities.   Specific Required Tasks   -    Prepare a two day training work plan on the below topics, among others: Active listening Key principles of dealing with denial Personal and professional communication skill Empowering role of parents in dealing with their children’s disabilities Basics of counseling Recommend any other relevant training outputs -    Give training -    Report on training outcomes     3-    CONSULTANT QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:   The Consultant should have the following competencies and experiences:   -          Degree in related field -          Extensive experience in disability, preferably children with disabilities -          Experience in training -          Familiar with civil society and NGO engagement.  -          Good analytical and critical thinking. -          Preferable familiarity with Palestinian context   4-    DURATION OF THE CONSULTANCY:     The consultant will provide services for WVL as needed during the period from July 27th 2015 - until August 31st, 2015.         5-    Payment Terms: The full amount will be paid when the services will be completed.     Interested applicants are requested to kindly send their CV along with a cover letter and detailed quotations for the accomplishment of the above tasks.
