Civil Or Mechanical Engineer

Project background: LRC under the fund of UNICEF will implement urgent WASH activities revolving around water, sanitation and hygiene in Qobbe Tripoli, north Lebanon. Aims of the role: perform a technical, organizational and supervisory role on infrastructural projects, setting out and determining the activities in the  location for above and underground infrastructural installations related to WASH operations. Project implementation: Preparing a bill of quantities (BOQ) for the unit technically evaluated in the field. Review the design. Field supervision of the construction/ rehabilitation of the Unit. Managing, directing and monitoring progress during each phase of a project. Daily visits to the construction sites, assessing the quality and quantity of the work done by the contractor (very good knowledge of materials, specification and prices). Dealing with contractors/ workers/ sub- contractors/ owner/ other stakeholders. Reporting the situation of the project. Draw up shop drawings and as built drawing, using computer aided desgin (cad) packages. Report back on logistics requirements, and fill out procurement forms when necessary. Follow up the rehabilitation of the infrastructural activities program. Coordinate with IRL staff and key stakeholders regarding services in all its aspects. Ensure that standards (e.g. Safety, security, environmental, quantity, quality) is followed during service provision. Gather and share appropriate information that would enhance the project implementation. Ensure that all Services- related data (e.g., activity monitoring) is well managed and provides an accurate representation of the reality on the ground. Submit regular reports to line management. Work with the field team to achieve the objectives of the project.   Related skills: Ability to manage stress and be flexible and accommodating in difficult working circumstances. Good understanding of the humanitarian sector and experience in implementing relief projects. Computer literate with significant experience in Microsoft application. Fluency in English and Arabic. sound mathematical and technical skills, including physics. ability to think methodically, to design, plan and manage projects. ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities. excellent verbal and written communication skills. negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills combined with the ability to delegate
